  1. Glad to hear there looks to be some progress! BTW - I still have that Duncan frag I got from you just before the "troubles" set in so you are welcome to have that back if you lost yours. New sump with the roller mat looks sweet! Will be curious to hear how that works out for you. Definitely like the concept - especially if you have been fighting nitrate levels. How are you going to house things during the reboot? Sounds like you have a second tank setup somewhere.
  2. Really like the look of that Razzmatazz - do you have a pic of the mother colony? I (surprisingly) didn't find much online for this one.
  3. Hey Brian - do you still have these? They can come in really handy in a 1909 bungalow 😀
  4. Actually, looks like you can't receive messages so maybe your inbox is full?
  5. Hey Chris! Good to "see" you man. This post made me think of you 😀 Going to shoot you a PM about an unrelated issue so keep an eye out.
  6. Really interesting Manny. Not sure if you happened to look at the SuncrestReef thread where he described his recent issues but sounds like it could be something similar happening on his (and mine). Makes me very curious...
  7. Why does this not surprise me 😀 Brrrr. Hadn't thought about that - hate cold showers! Hope the tank did OK.
  8. Guess they will let you do anything up in WA eh? No wonder you moved 😀
  9. Well, I did pick up a battery backup for my gyres... baby steps 😀
  10. Hi Jamie - you still have some of the burning banana? That is one of the pieces I lost last time around and wouldn't mind a replacement.
  11. Yeah - Ryan and Randall should have a "sell off" sometime - who can build it and then sell it the quickest!
  12. Hey Happy B-day Jim! Glad I ran into you last weekend and got to catch up a bit. Hope you do something fun for yourself today!
  13. I think Daniel @danlu_gt has some nice orange ones but not sure if any are fragable and might be walls anyway.
  14. That is exactly what I used to run (well, VHO actinics back then but you get the idea 😀)
  15. Nice setup for someone who doesn't mind running the halides... those radiums provided awesome light on my old tank.
  16. Hi all, One of our members is clearing out for a move and contacted us about donating some items - probably mostly supplements etc. - so I was wondering if anyone knew if any of our TFT tanks was still up and running anywhere. Obviously we could hold onto them until a later time but some items might be time sensitive. I will have a list later this week but just wanted to get the conversation going. Thanks! @Higher Thinking @Emerald525 @Gil&Fin @SuncrestReef @CuttleFishandCoral @Gumby @Flashy Fins
  17. This, unfortunately, sounds like the voice of experience...
  18. Super frustrating John - I know the feeling. After just leaving mine alone for a few months, I have started to see my encrusting corals making a comeback by coloring up and spreading fairly well. The lone acro starting encrusting and growing again and a few things I thought were completely gone have shown signs of coming back. I did recently add a bag of live sand and some miracle mud per some other suggestions and that at least hasn't hurt anything. I would be curious to run another ICP and aquabiomics analysis but I think I will wait a bit longer to see if the comeback is sustained. I added some additional test frags of various types over the weekend to see how things go. Hope your's turns around soon. I didn't see the spike in nutrients (but my phosphate has been high for a while) still suspicious that this might be a side effect rather than causal to the problem (e.g. reduced intake due to die off) but obviously, it doesn't hurt to be confident in your mechanical filtration regardless. Good luck!
  19. Glad to hear that worked out!
  20. I would suspect it just needs to break in or you have something in your tank water as Blue Z was trying to get at above. I have run a couple of different AquaMaxx models (currently a Q3) and haven't had an issue with the over-foaming or microbubbles once they were conditioned so hopefully this clears up for you soon. Word of caution however - if it is something like prime in the water, it might take a while if you are cycling the skimmate back into the sump. Good luck!
  21. If only I had room for this... 😀
  22. Nice tank Daniel - hope it finds a good home!
  23. Glad you found him and got him out! I had a gorilla crab in my prior tank that managed to escape notice for a long time - likewise had disappearing fish.
  24. Hey Brad, Congrats on the breeding clowns. The person on here who raises all the clowns @talkalot82 might have some good suggestions. Tagged them just in case.
