  1. Hey Ron - good to "see" you! I saw a nice envision 4x2 120 on here the other day with stand - was pretty recent so you might be able to find it.
  2. That is what I was thinking as well although, for me, the base color has an almost yellow tone vs. green. One of my personal favorites for sure!
  3. Looking good man! Seems like you had some pretty impressive Euphyllia growth - those are some large colonies in there 👍
  4. Well that is disturbing. I crashed my tank from some organic metal containing contaminant in a reactor mix but have yet to find these kinds of items. I've been going through my material with a magnet prior to adding to the reactor now but hate to see this level of garbage. I have run ARM successfully in the past in a relatively high flow, high pH setup FWIW.
  5. That's crazy - 400 gallons and it doesn't even look half full! Glad the coris didn't take a liking to the shrimp 😀
  6. Haha... silver lining time! Well, if that happens let me know, I could use some new plate corals 😀
  7. Glad to hear it's looking like you avoided the worst fallout. Hopefully the plates will perk back up eventually as well.
  8. My guess would be Scott @spectra He has done really fine metal work on heavy duty stands for many of the reefers on here.
  9. Thanks for everything you do for the community Jeff!
  10. I have the Avast Marine version of the skim mate locker and highly recommend them. Great way to add some overflow security to your system and keep odors down. GLWS!
  11. Looking great David! Love the way those sliding light racks turned out - nice design.
  12. Hi Eli, Great news about the BJD intervention and some promising data re whole tank treatments. Given the results on the biome balance, I wonder if this could provide some hope for doing targeted antibiotic treatments to help restore balance to tanks that have gotten "out of whack" for one reason or another (you know where I'm going with this one). Clearly risky but I could see where a combination of targeted antibiotic with reintroduction of desired bacterial strains could potentially be a more broadly useful paradigm (not that BJD treatment isn't a breakthrough in and of itself). Thanks!
  13. Wow Jeremy - glad you caught that right away. I'm thinking the quick buffering of the pH swing hopefully saved you. It is interesting, however, that the giant Alk spike has so far proved uneventful for the coral - thankfully! I have always been curious how people who dose kalk as part of an ATO setup manage the controls on that since evaporation rate isn't constant. I could see having the emergency timers and pH safety checks but how do you manage to keep things consistent within those and still achieve correct volume (salinity) control? That conundrum always made me nervous... Glad it seems to be working out and thanks for sharing as a precautionary tale!
  14. Happy birthday Jeff! Hope you are taking a day off to relax a bit 😀
  15. Love those lights! Have a trio myself.
  16. Good to know! I am running the older 250s but guessing that doesn't matter. I can PayPal you if you would be willing to hold for pickup. Wouldn't be able to get over there until this weekend if that works. I remember your handle from back when I first joined (2006?) - hope you are back with us at some point.
  17. There is always someone... glad we could count on you 😀
  18. Sorry to hear your system came down. Been away from the forum for a while so missed that news. Would be interested in the Icecap batter backup if it works with Maxspect like the current version.
  19. Happy B-day Holly! Hope you are spending the day doing something fun for yourself. Miss hanging out at your frag sales and seeing all our reefing friends...
  20. This is interesting. Would likely be best to be done in combination with some before/after testing and supplementation (live sand?) from a trusted source I would think but could be the ticket to "reset" a seriously out of whack microbiome. I picked up some live sand to give it a try since it seems like a logical step. Also took the UV sterilizer out of service (needed a new bulb anyway). Hopefully things start looking better at some point. Thanks for the advise and insight Eli! @EMeyer
  21. Hi Whall, unfortunately too late for this particular drawing - you had to be a supporting member and reply in the original sign up thread that closed in November. Make sure to keep an eye out for future events though. As Emerald said, likely to have more of these online features in the coming year.
  22. Congrats Paul @Trailermann Should help stock that new tank you have been setting up!
  23. Good to hear someone is doing well 👍 Always wanted one of these as they are super slick.
  24. Thank you for confirming Eli - I think this could well be an important key here and perhaps the one common thread. I had a couple of tests done as part of your initial sampling phase with the club but they were pretty consistent so I think the one that you are referencing is a good representation. So, in my case, I could see the initial crash due to some metal contaminants having an effect (primary or secondary) on the bacterial diversity which, at least as of the August 2019 date, had not recovered (crash was probably a year or so before that) and could underlie the problems of getting rebooted without addressing the imbalance directly. Definitely sounds like a worthwhile approach (i.e. trying to rebalance the mircobiome) as one of the prior posters had done. Doesn't sound like John had any precipitating event he can point to but perhaps facing a similar situation currently. Maybe we should discuss a strategy and try a coordinated "treatment" paradigm to try and rebalance? @SuncrestReef Might be hard given our different setups and husbandry but perhaps we could come close re products/dosing etc.?
