  1. I have a nice and healthy Heteractis Magnifica (also known as a Ritteri) for sale. It's been in my tank for about 4 or 5 months and has never deflated in the entire time I have owned it. The only reason I'm selling it is that I have two of them and I just don't have the room for both of them. These are hard to find in a healthy condition and will host most species of clownfish. SOLD .
  2. That's not bad at all. Definitely worth it for that amount of rock.
  3. I didn't realize that overnight was possible or I might have looked at that although I only ordered the nano pack for my daughters new tank so the shipping probably would have been as much as the rock. If I ever order a larger amount, I'll definitely look into the overnight option.
  4. The rock looks great. I've ordered from them two different times with the latest being a couple of weeks ago. Both times I've had it shipped priority mail with the first shipment taking two days and the latest taking three. I'm sure not as much survived as the above rock but I'm very happy with the minimal die off and the diversity of the rock. I was able to start with SPS corals after just one month after now at 10 months everything is doing great.
  5. Do you feel the IM skimmer is helping at all? I want to add some additional filtration on my 50 lagoon and trying to decide if I want a skimmer, media reactor of something else. I currently use a filter sock, IM UV sterilizer and the refugium light but it's not growing much algae.
  6. I'm not sure how long of a pipe this would work with but I'm using 24" pipe with 12" diameter to hang my hybrid.
  7. i understand that it must be removing something that was causing your SPS issues. I don't use GFO so i'm not familiar with usual amounts used and was just curious on why it's not dropping your phosphate levels to zero.
  8. That's interesting and I'm glad things have turned around for you. How much are you using and how does it compare to the recommended amount to reduce phosphate?
  9. Excellent job on the tank, it looks great.
  10. That's probably the combo I would go with also with only two bulbs to supplement. You could then use your blue leds to choose the color you prefer. When I used my 4 bulb T5 hybrid with a XR30 Radion, I liked to use more white T5's and the blue channels of the Radion to balance it out. I couldn't really dial in the color that I liked when I had to use the white leds to balance out the blue T5 bulbs although your fixture may be different . Now that I'm using a metal halide bulb, I am using blue plus and actinic bulbs to balance out the whiter halide bulb. I would suggest you buy a blue plus, coral plus and an actinic and then you can find the combo that you like.
  11. Thank you for everyone involved in this. It was a lot of fun checking in every evening.
  12. Thank you, I appreciate it and all you do for charity. I have spoken with J-Dog and I think it's only fair that we split the prize since there were only two of us that made it to the end. He is going to pick up the prize and grow them up a little in his frag tank so we can both enjoy them and hopefully share them in the future. Are there any choices to make or do you have the pack already picked out? Thanks again and I look forward to another one.
  13. So they just ended up in your filter socks? How many did you start with? I started with seven about a month ago and my aptasia are disappearing but I've never seen more than a couple of them late at night since then. I would love to pass some on when they are finished if I can find them.
  14. It seems like my tank does the best when I get green film algae every other day or so.
  15. Your tank is looking great. I have the 50 lagoon and really enjoy the AIO simplicity.
  16. I wish I would have known when I was in earlier today. Please save me a piece. Thanks.
  17. That answer is yes but I think the original manufacture date was around 2009 or so. The older wet sides had rebuild kits but those are no longer available and entire wet side assemblies must be purchased ($78.00). I don't know what the lifespan of these new wet sides are. I replaced my original drivers with EcoSmart drivers years ago and they are both still working. I had one motor seize up after I dropped it in the tank (bought a used replacement from a member here and it is also at least 10 years old). I have also had to replace one power supply that went bad. I will probably upgrade to entirely new Quiet Drive units when mine completely die but for now I'm still happy with how they are working. I don't mind spending $75.00 here and there to keep them running but if ever another motor does stop working I'll look at replacing with something new.
  18. My dry side motors are original but I have the second generation ES drivers and one new Quiet Drive wet side and one original wet side. Since you don't really know what is the issue it may be wise to go with something new. If you knew for sure that a new driver would work, it wouldn't be too expensive to go that route also (new generation parts work with older models). It's a tough call. I really like my vortechs but I haven't ever tried a gyre.
  19. I'm sure you have tried this but make sure the it is making good contact with the pin in socket. I know some one of mine has to be exactly right or it won't work. I also had some of those original drivers die on me.
  20. Here's my final update. It has grown a little and the color has basically stayed the same from day one. It never has had very good polyp extension but I don't have a frag rack and have been moving it around quite often. I also don't have a good camera to capture the true colors or get a very clear picture so this is it.
