  1. Oh i have gsp aplenty, thank you. I was just imagining the satisfaction of peeling a huge mat like that away. /derail
  2. I was just having this issue and it ended up being because my red sea mag test kit was old. I switched to a new bottle of reagent and voila. It was frustrating because I had been adding a lot of tech m to combat briopsis.
  3. You didn't fail and it likely wasn't dying. We just all weren't kidding when we said we've all killed at least one of these before we learned our lesson. They are notoriously difficult to get settled.
  4. I was going to post about adding more rock but that last shot is awesome. I really like your tank! Really good aquascaping in terms of the flow of the rocks.
  5. Amazon/ebay would be your best bet. No, you cannot get them at the hardware store. I usually buy 3 packs on ebay from Rudy at Golden Basket.
  6. I used to use gel super glue and was forever having coral pop off the rocks. I switched to IC gel a while back and it's been golden. Just get a good glomp on the bottom of the coral and work the glue in to the rocks a little. Don't put it on flat rock or it won't work. This gel is also handy for sealing together precarious rockwork.
  7. Sorry to hear this. You sure the water change was good? What's your salinity at? I can't speak for the medication but a water change that big at incorrect parameters could certainly cause this.
  8. Not that. Seriously, everyones story seems to be the same. Just don't do what I did if/when yours starts dying and let it get under a rock and decompose. They're seriously bad news in corpse form.
  9. It's exuding it's stomach to eat the food. LPS does this a lot too. Sebae's man... :/
  10. So what we're saying here is, "Don't have kids." Got it. :p

    Pumps

Mags are a well known brand but I can attest to the noise. I've since switched to Rio Plus return pumps and they've treated me well so far.
  12. I always triple test any test result I don't like. If it still seems out of whack I'll use a different brand of test kit. Seems kind of suspicious that only certain coral are reacting but who knows. Good luck man!
  13. I didn't put locks on my stand and our three year old son had been watching me program the timer on the soda ash drip. The next morning I came out to a turned on timer and half a bottle of alkalinity solution already in the tank. Killed a bunch of coral. Now I keep locks on the stand.
  14. @PowderBlue, Brand aside, how does running a gyre type flow compare to standard wavemakers/circulation pumps? I've been interested in making that switch but haven't seen them used personally. (Pure inexperience, not that people don't use them.)
  15. I haven't tried LRS products. How do they compare to Rods?
  16. edit: too many words. Jabao rules and I haven't had any problems with continued use of their products.
  17. Man, I promised my wife no new coral this month. You are putting strain on my marriage. :I (not really, but seriously WOW) What is the 4th picture? That is ridiculous.
  18. He looks pretty happy imo. I tried a sebae early on in my tank and when it crawled under a rock and died it took a few fish with it. It never poofed up like that. :(
  19. Welcome! You're definitely in the right place. Keep an eye out on the sales because emerald isn't kidding. I see full setups being sold for ridiculous prices on here frequently. You'll find it's just a symptom of a tight knit reefing community. Again, welcome to the forum!
  20. Walk face-first into walls much? :p
  21. Such a good deal. Where were you when I was starting? :p glws!
