  1. Our christmas wrasse was one of our first fish. I wish she would just disappear already...
  2. Earlier in my tanks life I tried a leopard wrasse and he disappeared for about two weeks. He then came out for about a full day and was subsequently never seen again. They can be pretty finicky regarding other fish. At the time I had a very dominant flame angel that was my most likely culprit.
  3. That's awesome! I love the t5 supplementation. That's crazy about potentially electrocuting some corals. Glad everything is doing well.
  4. What'd you put in there that needs removing?
  5. That's comforting to hear. Weren't you shutting your tank down? Did it have anything to do with this?
  6. Hmm, still wondering if I've got mine up too much.
  7. Do your lights get any whiter than that throughout the day?
  8. I'm still not seeing any results with Vibrant. I find little clumps daily in my sump, clustered in the rest of the macro. Manual removal is still proving to be my best bet. Edit: To be clear, I'm not writing it off. I'm on dose 4 of the 6-30 dose recommendation. Just not seeing results yet.
  9. The Darwin Sect one is just under $1800. Jellyfish themselves are crazy expensive too. All in all, yea, it'd be one heck of a financial adventure.
  10. Neat find Mark. Nice to see a little different take on the typical kreisel. I've done a bit of research into keeping moon jellyfish and as is usually the problem, I'd be super concerned about the small tank size. They appear to be very susceptible to salinity changes so as with the reef tanks, I personally would think bigger is better. It's a very artistic approach though. I also wish they would put a light in the bottom. Not that jellyfish need light but it seems strange to not include some kind of viewing illumination. edit: If I had my druthers and the room/spare cash I'd get this one. http://www.pbnjellies.com/products/cubic-pulse-160-white-jellyfish-aquarium-tank-only
  11. I was browsing around liveaquaria and happened to look at crosshatch triggers. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for that pair? Those are crazy expensive!!!
  12. I'm probably overthinking the gift exchange but are they supposed to be gag gifts?
  13. Awesome! I really appreciate the opportunity! Just out of curiosity, how often does this thing get calibrated?
  14. Looks like I got 3 extra single heads. I'll get pics when they open. They're the green ones with the random brown splotches. Tried the sunny d's too but I kind of glomped them in the glue so we'll see. Well, that was a first!
  15. No I gotcha. The grandis are just a pretty solid mat. I'm going to give it a try tonight. Thanks for the tips! Your collection is looking killer.
  16. Hey what method of fragging are you using for your polyps? I have some nice Grandis I'd like to cut up for trade but really have no idea where to start.
  17. Oh, no worries. It's not ideal but definitely not a problem. The coral is all happier than it was with the glass and though losing fish sucks, it'll give me a chance to replace them with bigger and better ones. Always gotta find that silver lining.
  18. I'd like to be put on this list. Would love to try this on my reefbreeders to get a better idea of where I'm at.
  19. Sorry to derail here, but hey free bump! What is that red feathery thing?
  20. I tried that but since I have plumbing coming out the back and light brackets on the side. Typical screen won't work.
  21. I think I'm just going to have to consign myself to keeping smaller jumping species out of the tank. I have a christmas wrasse and a blue sided fairy wrasse but they're too tubby to fit through the eggcrate. I guess "carpet surfing" was a bit of a misnomer. Keeping a tank on carpet sounds scary. The firefish hit the pergo but poor "Jaws" the jawfish baked under the morning led's on top of the eggcrate. That is a killer idea but since I have drain pipes on the back from the external overflows and their returns plus the brackets from the led's on the sides I'm not sure how well I could get this to work. I'd be interested in doing something like that though if it was feasible. The eggcrate is all right but I hate that it blocks any light at all. Compared to glass that was impossible to keep clean it's still hands and feet better where light obstruction is concerned though. I'm also not a fan of it being white where all my tank trim is black. I considered spray painting it but didn't because I'd rather not be dipping paint in the tank. There is also black eggcrate you can order online but I just spent $30-40 on the sheets for this. If I don't find a better option in the next couple of months I'll probably replace the white with the black.
