Emergency drain? Can that work with external overflow boxes?
-
I had a flame Angel for about a year. Most aggressive fish I've owned. He loooooved acans.
-
@jorge It will be missed. Definitely the best coral I've had. I just hope this thread can save someone the mistake of bringing sexy back.
-
They killed a red trachy first, then tore the bleeding apple up. The other emerald meat coral got beat up next, then my symphyllia. Everything but that first trachy and the pictured meat is still alive and recovering. Finally caught the vandals when they started in on this meat.

Back when it was doing better. I've learned something. Sexy shrimp and peppermint shrimp suck. Literally found a sexy burrowed inside, wreaking havok. Removed them all with a turkey baster. The coral recovered slightly. Then I found a peppermint tearing it's mouth open during dark hours. Moved it to the frag tank but it's done. :(

Wanna know how to make your clown fish host a hammer?
youcallmenny replied to lonny.'s topic in Fish
How long have you had the fish and nem together? Took our two ding dongs almost a year to find a nem. Then I removed all nems and they've hopped to my GSP island spire. -
I've had the blue variety for over a year now. She's annoying with the sand splashing sometimes but other than that she's my favorite. Super social, always in my face when I'm viewing the tank. She has stopped growing at around 6". She's been in a 75g if that helps. Her and our fairy wrasse are best buds.

Really neat to see, thank you for sharing!

I seen it for myself, peppermint shrimp are awesome!

I just removed the 2 I had. They were tearing open LPS mouths during dark hours. Careful, I thought they were harmless until I watched them kill an ultra meat, trachy and almost my bleeding apple scoly. -
Ahhahaha! I'll never forget the first time I went to TPA in salem and promptly decided I was getting into reefing. Garrett took a lot of time explaining things like cycling a new tank, tites tates etc. After about an hour or two straight of noob questions I walked out with two smaller MH pendants and more questions than answers. One thing I had neglected to ask was how to hang them. Instead, I placed them both sitting on top of the glass canopy, right on the plastic seam. That was a fun conversation when I returned them and admitted why. XD

Jerk alert! Sorry Lex, but since you are too polite to say what we are all thinking, there it is.

Took 2yrs - finally flooded my garage...
youcallmenny replied to Bevo5's topic in General Discussion
Flooded our 75g display onto the brand new pergo floors in June. We were at Disneyland watching the fireworks display when my tank sitter called. I have an oversized return pump and before this incident ran it as high as I could without flooding. That was lesson one, slow that turnover. The killer was that I had no idea about the snail in the plumbing problem and thus no gutter guard on the overflow. Well, that flooded most of my sump volume out of the top of the display. Probably close to 40 gallons. Haha you live and you learn! -
What are your thoughts on powdered foods like reef chili/frenzy in regards to keeping sps? Fuel is like unicorn piss for your reef. Pure magic. PE on my mille's in particular is awesome.

First Annual Oregon Reef Expo Pictures!
youcallmenny replied to Emerald525's topic in Meetings and Events
Absolutely incredible event. My daughter and I didn't stay too long because she is 5, but we were blown away with the selection. Absolutely cherry picked collections for completely reasonable prices. I picked up half a dozen really incredible pieces, a few of which I didn't even know existed. Thank you to everyone that put their time, money and effort forth to make this happen. This was the first reef event I've ever been to and you guys have ensured it won't be the last! -

Salem Area Reefer, 140g total volume reef tank.

Thank you for the kind welcome. I ended up just throwing it all on a generic web host, worked out. Truly, cornbred isn't as bad as you might think. I contacted them directly about that piece and they gave me a screaming good deal. Like, brought down to mere mortal prices kind of deal. Ninjabeaver - I'd use tapatalk but my pictures are taken with my DSLR, so that'd make it kind of weird. Anyways, happy to be here. I'll snap some more pictures tonight when the lights start coming down. -

I'm not sure why the local photo hosting is so limited, apologies while I upload stuff to a third party. -

Thank you! That, is Cornbreds Flamethrower Diaseris. My frag is a little smaller but it grows fast and eats like a champ. You can get it on ebay. When mine is bigger I will be selling it as well. (For less than his insane prices, obviously.) -
Hi everyone! I'm Greg and I live in Salem with my wife and 3 kids. We have a 140g total volume reef tank that consists of a 75g Marineland display, an Aqueon 40b frag tank and a large custom sump. I'd be happy to answer any questions and am more than happy to receive criticism! Here's some pictures!

Really nice, I'd be super stoked if I had a frag do that!
