  1. I used a yoga mat for my install. My tank is 36"x68", so I found this oversize one on amazon. It's been in use a little over a year. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JMHWYI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. I like your project. I'll give you a whop of Zoa's for free, nothing needed back. I'm not letting any into my display tank, but got 2-3 little abused nubs at the bottom of frag tanks I bought from Brian when his shop shut down. I've been growing these out in my frag tank, just because someone may want them some day.
  3. Awesome find. I may be handy, but there's nothing like a stocked bench and experience doing it multiple times. Any idea what state he's located in? Just curious.
  4. Any update on details? Normal business hours, or something special?
  5. Congratulations! It's a nice looking tank and stand. Normal doorways are not 36" wide, which this setup requires. Does your location have an extra wide access, or have you figured out how to make one?
  6. Agreed. Thanks for the heads up. Got some too.
  7. Update. For this time of year, today's TDS is more my normal. [@SuncrestReef , notice there's no protective film. But removing it left some uglies. ]
  8. I was there yesterday, to order a mystery box. I may, or may not, have walked out with a few other items - which caused me to spend the rest of my afternoon dipping corals.
  9. It can store readings?! and of keep multiple tanks separate! Okay, I'm liking this setup. My storage system is a small flip pad of paper, and a couple of times I've gotten distracted and missed the reading coming off the tester. Had to repeat the same test. Sounds like a good kit.
  10. Same to you and your family! Happy Thank Giving!
  11. My understanding is this kit tests multiple parameters. Does it test them one at a time, or can you run two tests in parallel? I've gotten into a routine measuring Nitrate and Phosphate, and it involves both tests running at the same time. Hanna HI782 Nitrate high range - requires 7 minute wait for test results Hanna HI736 Phosphorus low range - requires 3 minute wait for test results Setup is the same for both kits. Fill vial with water, pour chemical into vial, shake vial for 2minutes. Then put in Colorimeter, wait for its timer to count down. So my system is, get everything prepped at once. Fill vials, cut open chemical packets. Pour into nitrate vial, shake 2 mins, start colorimeter. 7 min Nitrate timer starts. Then pour chem into phos vial, shake 2 mins, start colorimeter. 3 min Phos timer starts. ... And there's usually 4 mins left on the Nitrate timer. So I get both readings out, within a minute of each other. Clean up, put away.
  12. Black Friday Updates, from Lowes this time. Seems they have an equiv fixed platform ladder also for $35 (normally $60), and an adjustable height one for $98 (normally $125). I haven't seen either in person, just noticed them in the ads. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-Aluminum-Work-Platform-225lb-Load-Capacity/1002981294 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-Aluminum-Work-Platform-250-Lb/5000905497
  13. Well done. I like the look. Would make a nice desktop accent piece, in any work from home office.
  14. We're in Tualatin Valley WD as well. That's why I'm surprised. Must be something local on my end of the line. No need to peel off the film, I'll be "sharing the unit" with someone else soon. But I will start the life of the new RO unit with Peeled TDS meters. Thx for the Pro-Tip.
  15. This morning, I'm at 60 incoming. My water supply seems to be moving around.
  16. I'm surprised (but shouldn't be). The incoming water quality to our house has always felt good. I complain in the late summer time if TDS creeps up to 60-70 range. Peak winter time, I'm usually 10-20 range. And in between usually 20-30 range. It was ~25 about 1-2 weeks ago when I made last batch of new RO water. Today... 55. I know, not a huge number, but the change in two weeks surprised me. Don't worry, TDS out of the RO is always 0. But my Silica has always run high. So this year for Xmas (black friday sales) I bought a new spectrapure beast, with supposedly good finishing cartridges - capable of catching more silica. Likely to install it over the T-Giving holiday weekend. What's the incoming TDS feeding your RO systems today?

    Fish traps

Following. I'm hoping someone has tried a tankmatez trap, they look interesting.
  18. I've had two other friends order them, for delivery, as well. Apparently they're hot sellers! I told you these are awesome.
  19. I am a Supporting Member And I'm adding an interesting picture I took of my tank recently. An Emerald Crab I thought I'd lost long ago. Found him while inspecting the tank in the morning, under red lights. What interesting picture are you going to post, when you submit your entry?
  20. That went amazingly fast. As you can see, the box I pulled my 2nd one from was full. This was the HD just north of Hwy 26, at Murray exit. (Yes, I bought a spare. Because it's also good for painting, and I wouldn't want to mix painting and Aquarium supplies.)
  21. I bought a bunch of these in bulk. Drop me a PM if you want one. I'm in Cedar Mill.
  22. Last Xmas, a very creative friend gave me the Handiest Aquarium Tool I've had in Years. ... A painting platform, to stand on while working in the tank. I've used step stools as my reefing go to... they're now obsolete for me. This thing is amazing. Walk back and forth whole length of my tank. Light weight/easy to move. ... Normally $70 at Home Depot. This weekend, I spotted this sale going on. $35 for this platform is a no brainer. Heads up. On Sale In front of my tank Another view (tank was in blackout for Dinos)
  23. Picked up Pack 4 last night. I can attest, Titus's tank looks awesome. Well done, and thanks for the corals!
