  1. I like the Acrylic base you added. I assume its for extra "tip over" support.
  2. Yup. Booster Pump included and auto flush cycles every X hours and on startup.
  3. Thanks. What you can't see is the high water and "low enough to start re-making RO" water sensors that came with it too. Instructions were to drill holes in side of RO tank, but I don't like holes. So built a PVC structure that hangs down Inside the tank to hold the sensors. Nice-n-clean, and not extra holes in the tank.
  4. Bump, you still out there? I haven't seen an answer to my PM.
  5. Happy New Year to you and your tank as well! A few years ago, my tank had degenerated into yuck and frustration. Patrick and the Salt Water Obsessions team helped revive it and keep my wife happy during an particularly busy 2 years of travel for me. Your tank is looking great!
  6. What did I do this holidays? I bought a new RO unit on black Friday, and installed it on new years weekend! I bought my Kent Hi-S ~50gpd unit some time in the 90's, and it's been in constant use ever since. I've replaced the membrane and cartridges multiple times, broke a cylinder from overtightening, and added an RO booster buddie (great addition, highly recommended). Punch line, I've gotten my monies worth out of this unit. But, my system is not bigger, would be nice to have more capacity, and also be nice to produce less waste water. (got some Large water bills last summer, which in fairness included watering the lawn/etc) So black Friday, I ordered a new fully automated, integrated, all the bells and whistles unit. Finished installation yesterday! SpectraPure® Mega MaxCap® Performance Plus™ 1:1 RO/DI System There was one interesting twist with this unit. It includes a dedicated 3/8" RO flush line (blue hose dangling), that does the flush with RO water, not incoming water. This is new to me. Out with the Old: In with the new! Thank you for your service!
  7. So how bad was it? Fire dept came. I see the orange glow on the back side of the tank. Did it progress further, into the structure? On my end, I found I have Ox-Guard. (while amazon delivers some super lube to compare with)
  8. We'll check it out over the holidays.
  9. It could have easily been a flawed part, OR a corroded connection/cheap connector. But it "says" it was 15A rated. Not any more, that's for sure.
  10. 15A. I think the two heaters are 200-250-300 watt range each. (they're two different brands) Eheim and Finnex
  11. My simple answer, I can't tell. I don't think any saltwater got into the connection, but at the same time I don't think the heater is broken and drawing THAT many amps. The EB832 shows the outlet peaking around 600W (~<6A @ 110v), and there's two heaters plugged in. (via green plug) So I don't THINK it was too much. But I can't tell.
  12. I bought this rock from another club member last year, getting ready to aquascape my tank. I ended up not using it, and went in a different direction. Never got it even wet. It's a big piece, you'll need a tank with at least 15" of depth. Lots of nice negative space. Paid $200 from another club member, asking $200. No shipping, located near Bethany in PDX.
  13. I got a reminder this morning, that no matter how prepared I think I am... Salt Water wins, sometime where you least expect it. This is my EB832, on a wall, about three feet above the sump. I use the green xmas 3x1 angled outlet extension to plug two heaters into one outlet. (My idea of redundancy, rather use two that add up to the wattage I want - in case one dies) Heater cord goes straight down, no bents. You'd think nothing could get UP, into the outlet. Was straightening cords this morning, and got This Surprise. Threw heater and green expander away. Happy I had spares.
  14. When I remodeled my fishroom last year, I used two online suppliers. One was best pricing for union ball valves, and one for colored pipe/fittings and misc fitings. I price checked each piece between them, some parts surprised me. The whole build way gray sch 80, just to have a zero white build. https://www.supplyhouse.com/ https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/ Here's an example of what I spent. For the valves on the water change station outlets, I didn't use unions. Just straight glue on valves. (smaller, less bulky). They still turn as easy as butter. I tend to use these regularly (weekly if not daily), for getting ad hoc RO or extra salt water out. 1" Flui-PRO PVC Compact Ball Valve - Gray / Socket https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/1-flui-pro-pvc-compact-ball-valve-gray-socket-fp-gs-010.html
  15. nicely done. All of the custom work inside my hood I've done with Al bars from HD.
  16. Congratulations to all the winners, and big thanks to @SuncrestReef for running. Although I didn't win, it's been fun checking every day. Great club activity!
  17. Thanks, but I'm really looking forward to growing it out. I think I've figured out the primo spot too.
  18. @CuttleFishandCoral, you nailed it! Got my Mystery box home yesterday and settled. I asked for color, I'm a sucker for yellow sticks, and cool chalice. All boxes checked, and the surprises were great. They're not placed, but will be soon. Feel free to correct or name these. I think you said one of the sticks was tigers blood. Thanks Jeff! Corals on frag rack, and two lps on sand behind. What a great looking scoli and Lobo (?) Sticks #1 (left) & #2 (right). Kaye loves the little pink heads on the left one. Sticks #3 (left) & 4 (right). I'm a sucker for the yellow in the right one. Jason Fox My Miami (if I caught your description right) Pretty Goni, that's just opening this morning ... And a fat head Dendro that looks bland under morning blues and looks great during the daytime colors. ... and a few Ricordia I forgot to get a pict of.
  19. I busted a pin off one of my bulbs on the Tropic Marine 110-Watt UV sterilizer, picked up from @Higher Thinking. Anyone have one in town to purchase, or a recommendation on-line to buy from? Tropic Marine HF Pro 55W HO Lamp (TMC code 6056) Or, Philips TUV 55W HO lamp And If I'm buying/ordering, I should be looking for a spare quartz sleeve too. https://www.tropicalmarinecentre.com/en/tmc/pond/equipment/uv-filtration/pro-pond-advantage-110-watts-uv-clarifier-uk
