  1. But luckily no power issues! I get 8 more chances at this, right?
  2. I’m game! I’ve been close to throwing out my new reefled 160 lights after I couldn’t figure out why my WiFi was going haywire yesterday. I bought a new tv and receiver that hooked up to my WiFi, which I’d never had before. And as usual, the issue was between the keyboard and the chair. Finally back up and running like nothing happened!
  3. Thanks Rudy! I'll keep that hydroponics store info somewhere I'll surely loose it by the time I need a refill
  4. I bought 6 a week ago and the four aptasia I had are now gone.
  5. That's exactly what I'm talking about. The tricky part for all our DC pumps and reduced voltage components is that they run a single wire with shield cable, so you have to heat shrink a length of the shield to make it into a "wire". Other than warranty concerns, imagine how much cleaner and easier maintenance and wire management could be.
  6. Any of you cut your power cords to regular maintenance items (i.e. pumps) and wire in quick connectors somewhere convenient to avoid a huge pita every time you do maintenance?
  7. Dang, you Apex users are some serious data junkies! Makes sense on running probe upside down though, but how do you do that without the leads being under water?
  8. Update time I guess. Corals are growing pretty well, laying down base more than anything right now. 63340327927__BD4DEDAD-02B0-4E3A-8755-595EC9C1A391.MOV
  9. Sweet tank! That is the system I almost pulled the trigger on before going the route I did this summer
  10. Pretty quick response and reasonable cost for parts in my opinion. Interested to hear trouble level of repair after you’re done. I just bought these new Red Sea 160S lights, and they are all quick connectors for replacement parts with videos already made showing how to do it!
  11. Has it been running every day since you’ve had it, or did you just pull it out of a box and start trying to use it recently?
  12. If your internet doesn’t work well in your house, it’s a problem with your internet provider. These extenders as shown above are WiFi extenders, so I think you’re saying your WiFi doesn’t work well in your house, not your internet. They do make much more expensive WiFi extenders, which it sounds like you may need. Try Crutchfield or Newegg websites maybe?
  13. Knock on wood, but I’ve never lost a fish to a disease other than ich in 25+ years of reefing. And even with ich, it’s only been one off single susceptible fish at that. Clown fish are about as resilient as they come, but if you’re into quarantine and plan to run two systems all the time (unless these are the only fish you’re going to buy), you’re on the right track following Micah’s guidance. Just be careful not to kill your fish in the process of trying to protect them. Some think quarantine causes more stress than it’s worth sometimes. Hmmm, interesting to think about in the middle of our pandemic…
  14. Nice! Have you changed anything up that may have caused it to start growing faster?

    News

Has the deaf community grown exponentially during the pandemic? When did having a sign interpreter on the side become normal in Portland. Don’t notice it on national news, but any Oregon politician has a sign interpreter on the side. Usually dressed inappropriately for the occasion
  16. No problem. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon
  17. Mine is connected to the false ceiling going into my kitchen above my cabinets. Doing a 48” fixture cantilevered off the wall this direction is a pretty big moment at that joint, so you’d need to make sure it’s into studs and has large enough screws to handle the load
  18. That’s good news John, but are you going to wait it out or are you tearing down and rebuilding? Inquiring minds want to know…
  19. Skimz SM161 Monzter skimmer. Warner Marine tried their foot in this arena and had Skimz oem this for them. Replaced their pump with sicce PSK 1000. Works very well up to and including 160g I’d say. Very small footprint. I of course had to upgrade to bigger/better/faster/stronger model with my new build, because that’s just what I do I guess. $160
  20. I have two of these. Used maybe 3 months on last system. Didn’t need them on my new tank. $50 each or $80 for the pair. Pretty nice flow, though a little less than AI Nero 5
  21. Mine is a little different, but my idea would work the same for your scenario. Three-quarter inch schedule 40 steel pipe. Threaded elbow with maybe 20” vertical down and clamp the vertical to the wall studs or a painted piece of wood attached to studs
  22. Sweet! I bought their 150g with external overflow back in July! Beautiful tanks, and great price. I’m really glad I went eurobrace. I actually just put a jack post under mine this afternoon! My floor joists are 4x8 on 48” centers, and it was a cheap covid project to occupy part of my long weekend. What are you doing for a stand?
  23. Great pics, and beautiful corals! How the heck do you get pics that good with an iPhone?
