I picked up this nice orange/yellowish millepora from @CuttleFishandCoral today, and after dipping and placing it in my tank, I discovered it had a cute little 1/8" crab hitchhiker:

I use Red Sea Coral Pro salt. When I first set up my mixing station I would usually mix up 60 gallons at a time, and I just dumped the salt right in with the circulation pump running. Within a few months I had a lot of brown film buildup and even thick sludge at the bottom. Cleaning the mixing tank with vinegar worked but it was a pain. Now I pre-mix the salt in small batches in a bucket with 2 gallons of water first, then dump it into the mixing tank and repeat until I've added the correct amount. I also added a powerhead in the mixing tank in addition to the circulation pump. This has helped tremendously to reduce the brown film buildup and eliminated the sludge at the bottom.

Both the tank and the stand are 47-5/16” wide.

About 4 months ago I got this nice purple/blue/green goniopora, but a week later something (likely my diamond goby) buried it and I couldn’t find it anywhere. Well today I noticed a frag plug sticking out of the sand, and to my amazement the goni is still alive! I’m not even sure how that’s possible.

I love watching mine. It's non-stop entertainment!

I love going back to look at old photos of my tank to see how much progress has been made. These shots were from April 2018 when I first filled my tank with water for the first time: What a difference nearly 2 years can make!

I started my tank with dry rock. I let it cure in saltwater for about 2 months while setting up the tank, then it took about 1 month for the tank to cycle before it was ready to support life. Welcome to the club! I don't think 90 gallons is too much to start out with, and that's the size of my tank that I set up two years ago for my very first aquarium. Sounds like you got a great deal even if the gear needs a bit of work. Just take it slow, do your research before adding any livestock, and be very patient as nothing good in this hobby ever happens fast, but bad things can. In case you're not aware, we hold monthly meetings at various aquarium stores and sometimes at fellow club member homes. This is a great opportunity for you to meet fellow aquarium owners and to pick their brains on any questions you may have. I'm guessing it's some form of red macro algae. Its structure looks similar to a green algae I found in my tank last year. I took a quick look through some of the sample photos at this site, but couldn't find a match: https://biogeodb.stri.si.edu/pacificalgae/lifesearch

Yes, the Neptune Community Forum dates back to 2013 and is a wealth of knowledge. That's where I learned most of my Apex skills, and I'm a frequent contributor there. The Facebook group is less useful as there's no easy way to search it for relevant posts, and the members tend to be more novice and frequently hostile (as is common for Facebook).

I'll take one when they're available. There's definitely a market for this. I don't know if you follow the Neptune Community Forums or the Neptune Facebook group but people frequently ask how to use a 24v port to control a 120v relay, and the solutions presented are usually pretty ugly (both in complexity and aesthetics) or challenging for non-skilled DIY'ers. You could easily sell these.

My purple/green/blue stag continues to grow like a weed. It's now within 1/4" of the water surface. It was only 1" tall in Oct 2018.

Would a single outlet work if there’s only one 24v port available? For example, I have a FMM module in my garage for my mixing station, and it has one 24v port that’s open. (Edit: Never mind, I just re-read your post about a single port.)

The "LINKA_x_x" outputs are the 2-pin 24V DC accessory ports. 1Link ports don't actually have any output name, and you wouldn't be able to tap into the 24V pins of the 1Link because there's no actual way to turn 1Link On or Off. Only after you plug an Apex module into a 1Link does the module dictate what outputs are presented. For example, if you plug in a WAV, there will be one new output presented to you. A DOS will produce two new outputs, one for each pump head. I just wanted to make that clarification. But your design is pretty cool, and I bet you could sell a ton of them on the Facebook Neptune group.
