  1. 5 swiveling dining chairs with casters, and 2 matching counter-height swiveling bar chairs. Fabric is in excellent condition. The bar chairs wobble slightly but still work fine. Perhaps they can be tightened up. Selling entire set for $100. All or nothing, selling as complete set only. You pick up, located in Beaverton on top of Cooper Mountain. Table and dog in photos not included. 🤣
  2. For those of you lazy reefers with money to burn, check this out: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/the-reefbot-pro-is-here.691128/
  3. I haven't posted about my Trident for quite a while. It's still chugging along nicely and helping to keep my tank stable. Here are my targets for Trident Controlled Dosing: Alk: 8.20 dKH Cal: 420 ppm Mag: 1350 ppm And here's my current Trident report: The graphs represent the past 7 days, and while they look like there's a lot of up and down swings, what's not apparent is the narrow range of the Y axis. Here are the actual ranges over 7 days: Alk: 8.13 - 8.35 dKH Cal: 402 - 427 ppm Mag: 1345 - 1359 ppm That's pretty darn stable!
  4. Just curious...Are you relying solely on your Apex for temperature/heater control, or does your heater have a built-in thermostat? My heaters don't have any thermostat, so I recently added the BRS (Ink Bird) controller as a safe guard in case my Apex temp probe fails.
  5. I'm glad the tutorials helped. When you're ready for review of your setup, you can add my account (SuncrestReef) to your Fusion dashboard with read-only access. Then I can see your programming, inputs, outputs, and profiles. It's funny, sometimes I think having a background in programming is a disadvantage since Neptune's programming model and syntax is so much different than most popular programming languages! 🤣
  6. I just saw an announcement today from ICP-Analysis, which is the company I've been using for water testing. They are now including a free RO/DI or tap water test when you test your saltwater, and they're providing free shipping for your samples. See https://www.icp-analysis.com/collections/icp-testing.
  7. After nearly 2 years of collecting corals, my tank is overgrowing and I needed to frag several colonies to reduce crowding. I have a variety of SPS and LPS frags for sale. PayPal or cash. 8. My torch seems to be doing well in my tank. Thanks Jeff!
  9. Option 1 with the spare pump is awesome! I like that it can take over for either the main pump or the frag pump. It also gives you easy flexibility when it comes time to do routine pump maintenance. Great idea.
  10. This idea cracked me up: http://justine-haupt.com/rotarycellphone/ For those of you old enough to even know what a rotary phone is, it makes a lot of sense.
  11. Come to think of it Sean, I don’t think I’ve seen a single photo from that Nikon macro lens I sold to you last year. Still have that camera?
  12. Wow, looks great! Congrats.
  13. Ha! That’s better than when I had a turbo snail with bubble algae and aiptasia on its shell...
  14. Everyone has a display tank, but this is the first Display Mixing Station I’ve ever seen! Looks awesome, and that will make it much easier to see your water levels. Nice work. What was the ah ha idea for the frag tanks? Better than my stacked bunk tanks idea?
  15. Even I, the avid Apex fan, will suggest no. While you can control and monitor the Apex without an Internet connection, it would only allow access from your home, and would still require home networking equipment (at a minimum a network switch and cables, or a wireless access point). The biggest benefit of the Apex is for it to notify you when something is wrong and to be able to control it from far away. It cannot send notifications without an Internet connection, although if you add a Display module, it does have an audible alarms.
  16. As a last resort, I've heard that removing the rock from the water and suspending it upside down so the anemone is dangling into the surface of the water while its foot is out of the water will cause it to release fairly quickly. Of course, this may be difficult if the rock is part of a complex aquascape.
  17. If you can schedule it when you're home for the day, then aiming a powerhead at it may be a good choice. Just keep checking on it every hour and eventually it should have moved the foot out into an accessible area before it makes it to your corals, then you can coax it off the rock with your fingertip. Once they start to move, their grip on the rock is significantly reduced, making it possible to pry them off in under a minute. If they have been stationary for weeks, it can take nearly an hour to get them to let go.
  18. She looks surprised that I caught her cheating on the anemone with the goni...
  19. 1. I don't even own a soldering iron, let alone have any skills with one. 2. I dropped out of electrical engineering in college because I hated it. 3. I'm retired and have no intentions of working another day of my life.
  20. If you or anyone you know is looking for an electrical engineering job in the aquarium-related industry, this could be an interesting opportunity: Looking for a new engineer here at Neptune Systems
  21. My Apex tutorial series on Reef2Reef has now exceeded 20,000 views! Thanks to all of you at PNWMAS for the encouragement as I was writing the original articles here before R2R picked it up. As always, if any of you have Apex questions, don't hesitate to ask.
