Bicyclebill
Dang, I just did a 5lb bottle exchange this morning and it was $39.67! Airgas has additional $3.50 maintenance fee and a $9.40 hazmat charge that I don’t recall seeing before. Where does everyone get their co2? Gil&Fin
I use Airgas, too. My 10 lb bottle was about the same, maybe a little less. I have an account there, so I think I get a little break in price. And yes, they've added extra charges since COVID. In fact a few months ago, they wouldn't sell CO2 at all! I'll be interested to see if anyone else has found something less expensive, though that Airgas location (down the street from you) is so convenient for me I'm not sure I would go elsewhere. obrien.david.j
I use MainBrew (https://www.mainbrew.com/) as my location for CO2 tank exchanges. They're just north of Hwy26, at the Brookwood exit, Hillsboro. Exchanged my 20lb tank on Aug 13th for $30. They usually have 10lb tanks too, not sure if its cheaper. I usually call them first, just to make sure they have a full tank of my size on site. Since Covid, they've been going through more CO2 than ever before.

Plus you can walk next door to ABV for a couple growlers and maybe a pizza to go!

BeardUp
They got me at the beginning of COVID too. Try Central Welding, https://www.centralwelding.com/ I think they are ~$16 for a 5 lb.

Those are some good prices. A bit of a drive for me so I might have to just wait till I need all my tanks filled. Thanks for the recommendation.

albertareef
Not convenient for you Bill but I use Homebrewers Exchange on N. Interstate (right near the Rosa Parks Frwy exit). $16 for 5 lbs but are open Sat and Sun which is the only time I can usually get out so worth it for me.
Higher Thinking
I also use Welding Supply. Haven't refilled since the end of October, but it was $26 for a 20lb tank.
shaywood
Matheson Gas in Tualatin closed their showroom to the public until their staffing improves. Looking for a place to do a 5lb CO2 tank exchange in the area. Curious about the cost too.
shaywood
Checked with the local AirGas in Tigard/Tualatin. They charge $32 to exchange a 5lb bottle!
