  1. My Apex tutorial series on Reef2Reef has now exceeded 20,000 views! Thanks to all of you at PNWMAS for the encouragement as I was writing the original articles here before R2R picked it up. As always, if any of you have Apex questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  2. They've been keeping the new UI and programming under tight wraps so far. There was a brief demo video from MACNA, but nothing in depth yet. I'm withholding any opinion until I see the new product, features, and UI officially revealed.
  3. Very cool! Nice rock work. The tank looks great. I love my Reefer XL 425.
  4. CoralVue has started revealing more detail about the upcoming HYDROS line of controllers, due to be available this spring. I still haven't seen any details on the programming interface, but some of these accessories are pretty cool: https://mailchi.mp/coralvue/hydros-control-2
  5. Wow, great looking tank! Glad to have you onboard. As a fellow extensive Apex user, I'd love to see how yours is set up and if you're doing anything out of the ordinary with it.
  6. Looking forward to finally seeing this shop! I'll be very interested in details on the group buy colony.
  7. Sometimes I almost feel sorry for my anemone since the clowns never give it a break!
  8. I have one. How about $30? Located in Beaverton.
  9. Integrated circuit? They're probably talking about the printed circuit board that controls everything.
  10. Thanks for having us. Wow, what a great tank and setup you have! All the way home I was thinking about how I should set up my sump, frag tank, refugium, and plumbing for my upcoming build. I got a few ideas from your design. Great seeing everyone. Fun times as always.
  11. I'm seeing some really nice polyp extension lately: On a related note, it's cool how similar the spines on a starfish resemble polyps on a coral:
  12. In case you missed it, there's another thread related to frag swaps at tomorrow's meeting: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/topic/46526-frag-swap-at-roys-house/
  13. Wow, super clean setup! Is your sump under the cabinet or do you have a fish room?
  14. Welcome, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the meeting. As for what to expect, you'll find a bunch of dedicated reef keepers who love to talk about the hobby, their aquarium systems, current problems they may be facing, successful things they've done, and sharing tips in general. You'll also likely find some people who brought along some frags they're looking to trade or sell on the spot, and you're welcome to bring some of your own to trade or sell. Most meetings take place at various coral/fish/aquarium stores, but some (like this one) are at club member's homes. We always provide food at the meetings, and an assortment of raffle prizes. Supporting (paid) club members get one complimentary raffle ticket at each meeting, and you can purchase additional raffle tickets if you want to increase your odds of winning. Just show up, don't be shy, introduce yourself, and soon you'll be immersed in conversations with lots of similar-minded reef keepers!
  15. Are you building this at your old place near Lake Oswego, or at your new house? I'm no power lifter by any means, but I can lend a hand if you need it.
  16. FYI -- This is the Santa Monica HOG.5 Hang-On-Glass UAS Upflow Algae Scrubber rated for 1/2 cube feeding per day, so it's meant for smaller systems.
  17. I'm just slumming it with my green slimer, digi's, and birdsnest...
  18. @pdxmonkeyboy flies toy drones or something like that...🤣
  19. What kind of ATO are you using? Any ability to move the pump to a remote location and run tubing back to the sump? I use a Neptune ATK and use my 75 gallon RO/DI storage tank in my garage as the ATO reservoir 30 feet away from my tank.
  20. See my reply to your question on the Neptune forum for step by step instructions. After saving your configuration summary, you can delete the old EB832 module to clean up your dashboard. Unfortunately I’m in New York until Thursday, otherwise I’d loan you my spare EB832 until you can get a replacement.
  21. Wow, that is a great concise overview. I wish I had seen this when I first started my tank. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Have you checked the circuit breaker button on the EB832?
