  1. Is it 5/8" inner diameter, or outside diameter? Would this work? https://www.homedepot.com/p/HydroMaxx-5-8-in-I-D-x-3-4-in-O-D-x-50-ft-Crystal-Clear-Flexible-Non-Toxic-BPA-Free-Vinyl-Tubing-1403058050/310745758
  2. Opening the door to my sump... via GIPHY
  3. For those concerned about aesthetics, Geo is now offering custom color combinations. This would match my Apex and plumbing nicely....🤓
  4. I picked up this beauty from @CuttleFishandCoral last year. Amazing range of colors!
  5. I have a Red Sea Reefer XL 425 that's almost 2 years old now. Overall I love it, but there are a few things that most Red Sea customers will probably complain about: The included plumbing is metric, and is made from a different kind of plastic that seems a bit brittle. Use caution when tightening the connectors so they don't crack. The overflow control valve is finicky, so you frequently need to fiddle with the valve to keep the overflow from gurgling. I have to adjust mine at least once per week, sometimes more. The built-in ATO isn't great. I converted my ATO reservoir into a refugium and used a different ATO solution instead. Other than that, it looks great and is pretty high quality.
  6. I’ll take the wrasse and the 2 chromis!
  7. @obrien.david.j I left my Walt Disney at the top where it wasn't doing too well, then went out of town over the holidays. It didn't survive. How did yours do after moving it? I waited too long to take action. 😔
  8. Wow! Another reason I think I may need to get a 3D printer at some point. Nice work!
  9. The only possible upcoming competitor to Apex I'm aware of is the CoralVue HYDROS Control product line that is expected to arrive in Q1 - Q2 of 2020. However, the official specs and features are still vague, and I'd be hesitant to rely on a brand new product with little to no community support. The recent collapse of MindStream and Vertex Cerebra are good examples of new products that didn't have the momentum to survive. Full disclosure: I'm an avid Apex fan, participate heavily in the Neptune Community Forums and Neptune Facebook Group to help other Apex users world-wide to solve problems or brainstorm on creative solutions, and wrote the 8-part Apex programming tutorial series here on PNWMAS and Reef2Reef. I've been using my extensive Apex setup for almost 2 years now with great success. If you do pick up an Apex and want any assistance setting it up or help with more advanced programming, feel free to shoot me a note.
  10. Did you find some new containers? I saw you posted an ad to sell your old ones. If you need any ideas for your mixing station, I posted a detailed parts list for mine: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/suncrestreefs-red-sea-reefer-xl-425-build.358990/post-6173194
  11. I just removed it from the map. Sad day. 😥
  12. I'm leaving it for the nudibranchs. As long as there are a few aiptasia left in the tank, the nudibranchs have a food source. Last time all the aiptasia were gone, the nudis died off. Then I had to buy more 6 months later when the aiptasia came back. It's a delicate balance.
  13. @albertareef You read my mind! Here's the LFS map at a glance:
  14. I finally found a good spot for my pink goni where it seems happy. Thanks @Gil&Fin!!!
  15. @obrien.david.j Are you not going to do a test with Min Time removed?
  16. Personally, I think it would be best to eliminate the Min Time all together and rely on the pH readings. This will give you a true sense of how long a normal cycle takes. By forcing it to remain On or remain Off beyond the pH probe threshold you are making the swings larger.
  17. It's due to the memory capacity on the Apex, and it will also shorten the historic data you will be able to view.
  18. @obrien.david.j Another thing to remember when overlaying graphs is that the pH data is being sampled by default every 10 minutes for graphing, but the output logging happens in real time. The actual programming decisions are based on current pH readings, but the graphs are only 10 minute intervals. So while it may look like your pH is too low and the output should not turn on, the graph is just showing an average between two sample times. You can change the sample rate, but it's not recommended to make it too frequent.
  19. Actually, now that I think more about it, there is a good reason to remove the Set OFF. If it goes On when pH > 6.65, as soon as pH drops to 6.65 or lower it will turn Off right away rather than waiting until it gets down to 6.45.
  20. It's worth a try. Logically it doesn't seem that it would matter, but I've read enough anecdotal reports of it causing problems. Fallback OFF If pHCO2 > 6.65 Then ON If pHCO2 < 6.45 Then OFF Min Time 001:00 Then OFF
  21. When controlling an output between two values, it's best to not have an initial Set ON or Set OFF, since the conditions cover both states. I've heard that can somehow cause issues.
  22. If you don’t find anyone here with tanks for sale, check out Green Concepts in Gresham. They have a huge selection. See their ads on Craigslist: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bfd/d/portland-tank-super-store-full-line-of/7049805634.html
  23. Wow, this one caught my eye: https://cdaquarium.com/collections/frontpage/products/72x26x20-monster-sump
  24. I hear you! Last week I was doing some skimmer maintenance and that was messing with my sump water level, so I temporarily disabled my ATO. Well, I finished the skimmer work and completely forgot about the ATO. 2 hours later I got an alert from my Apex because a year ago I set up an alert that if the ATO hadn't run for 2 hours it warns me. I totally forgot I even set that up, but that's the beauty of having Apex alerts. I quickly enabled the ATO and all was good again. I covered this technique in my Apex Virtual Output tutorial: Let me know if you want to compare Apex safeguards.
