  1. If the ruler is that old, we should probably calibrate it to make sure it hasn't shrunk over time, giving you inflated measurements...🤣
  2. @reefnjunkie Do you have any other Apex modules with unused Temperature ports? I added a 2nd temp probe to my system so I don't rely on a single Apex probe. Temperature ports are included on the PM1, PM2, PM3, and ASM modules.
  3. A quick Google search listed a few options: (disclaimer: I have never visited any of these locations) Fish World Spokane 11522 E Sprague Ave Spokane Valley, WA 99206 509-535-8787 https://fishworldspokane.com/ Inland Corals 11811 East 1st Ave Suite 6 Spokane Valley, WA 99206 (509) 242-3000 https://www.inlandcorals.com/ Aquatic Dreams 3609 E Springfield Ave Spokane, WA 99202 509-822-8345 BlueZoo (public aquarium) Northtown Mall 4750 N Division St. Suite #1242 Spokane, WA 99207 (509) 542-7911 https://bluezoo.us/ Have a great trip!
  4. Back when my tank had zero phosphate, I dosed Spectracide stump remover mixed with RO water. Due to its chemical makeup, you can accurately dose based on water volume to increase PO4 to a specific ppm value. I lost the link to an online calculator, but if you Google it you might be able to find the formula. Spectracide is available at Home Depot or other stores with a garden center.
  5. I barely see any growth, maybe 1/32" at most, but it is starting to encrust a tiny bit. But man is this thing hairy! Compare this month to last month: June 1, 2020: April 28, 2020:
  6. Sorry, I'm not an expert on our forum software. I just vaguely remember an issue over a year ago when something changed and vendor posts fell off the top feed. I moved the CNC growout thread to the official Grow Outs forum because it seems more appropriate there. If others object, we can move it back.
  7. OK, I moved it to the official Grow Out forum:
  8. The post is under the CNC subforum. I believe there was a change in the forum a while back after a previous software update that prevented vendor forums from showing up as most recent posts. Here's a link to your post:
  9. I did the exact same thing when plumbing my mixing station. I forgot to place the union collar, but luckily there was enough pipe length that I could cut it off, add the collar, then use half of a 90 degree elbow to splice it back together as a slip adapter to avoid scrapping the whole assembly:
  10. Advice noted. I keep a very close eye on my tank, so if a clove polyp shows up somewhere else I'll notice right away. My aiptasia laser can wipe them out in 30 seconds. Until then, I like how they look mixed in with the monti's and mushrooms, and since they haven't spread for over a year, I'm not about to panic.
  11. I’m lucky the only clove polyps in my tank are completely surrounded on an island rock by monti’s and mushrooms. They haven’t been able to spread since I first noticed them over a year ago.
  12. @Chief Please PM me about this. I'm an IT security professional and I have some questions/comments about our hosting & SSL options.
  13. You'll love that light! I have 3 of them now on my Reefer XL 425. If you haven't seen it, I wrote a lengthy review and posted several ReeFi tips at R2R: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reefi-duo-extreme-led-unboxing-and-first-impressions.643718/ There's also a thread where people are sharing their ReeFi settings. You can download and import them into your light: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reefi-duo-extreme-profile-sharing-thread.692649/
  14. Nice find! Are you still going to mark or engrave them for tracking?
  15. Yes, it's said that at least since I first joined in 2018. The reason is that this site uses HTTP rather than HTTPS. HTTP is not encrypted and does not use any SSL certificate like most commercial sites.
  16. You might want to list the dimensions.
  17. I posted a new mini-tutorial on a way to verify an optical sensor is reading properly: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/neptune-apex-programming-tutorials.700483/#post-7490262
  18. Here's a short video I shot today of my clownfish and the rest of my tank:
  19. I know! I didn't buy any peppermint shrimp in the past because I always heard they were hit or miss. Since this pair had just recently cleaned up an aiptasia infestation, I knew they were proven. They're doing a great job! One patch of zoas waw completely infested with aiptasia last week, and now all I see are zoas. I'm hoping they start extending their hunting ground to other areas of my tank since there's still more work to do.
  20. I'd engrave a number in the plastic using a Dremel tool or similar. Then either use a spreadsheet or a written log each time you put them into or out of service.
  21. Just a quick update: I did not end up getting a copperband. However, I got a pair of peppermint shrimp from @Dakotapi3rc3 this week with a proven track record of eating aiptasia. Today I noticed one of my rocks that had over 30 aiptasia is now nearly clean! I'm pretty impressed.
  22. Just curious...What model of Gyre seized up, and how old was it? I use a Maxspect XF-230 so I'm curious about the lifespan.
  23. I also get 3 months. I'm not sure if you read my original post where I said I thought it was 1 year, but after I double-checked mine I edited my post to say 3 months.
