  1. I found it in Thingiverse and had it printed. Don’t have access to those 3D printers anymore though or I’d hook you up. I think a few people online sell prints for around $30-40ish for MP10/40s
  2. I’ve got frogspawn coming out my ears! I moved tanks and created tons of frags...with multiple heads. Will sell cheap, I’m in Camas if you want to travel.
  3. If you need 40B and they are 50% off, they cost $50 instead of $40 previously with DPG sale. I’d assume this isn’t going to break the bank 😂
  4. Yeah I think the misconception is that low number means not as bad (which is partially true) but all TDS tells you is there is a presence of solids in PPM but not what the solids actually are (obviously). Best to get some fresh resin going as mentioned.
  5. I’ll have to double check, I’ve been waiting for it to top off my existing 55 gal barrel so haven’t pulled it yet, cord just seemed short. I guess I’ll just use the shrink wrap for good measure and call it good as it will likely be suspended out of the water.
  6. Wondering what I should do...the issue is I have a 200 gal water reservoir which is 6’ tall. I believe the cord on my ATK V2 pump is 5’. I have the 1LINK extension cord. Wondering the best way to water seal the connection as it will be submerged if the pump goes all the way to the bottom. Anyone know of anything like this but submersible? Black CordSafe Extension Cord Safety Cover with Water-Resistant Seal for Cord Management https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HFXCRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AcBuEbTQSGFNS Everything I’ve see is water resistant but not submersible. I’m thinking of just using shrink tube and then coating it with silicon but seeing what everyone else has done.
  7. Depends where you are. When I was in Orchards area my TDS was around 120. Here in Camas, it’s 60. Don’t fill with tap, just sets you up for issues later. Not sure what RODI unit you have but most are around 90gpd, so you’d be about a week to fill give or take, is that waaaay too long? 😂
  8. Looks great! Nice job on the stand! how do you like the eclipse overflow? I have a buddy who’s tank needs one and wondering what your overall impressions are? Did you get it tuned to be silent?
  9. Sheesh that is spendy! Another part is you have to buy 9 test kits too. Even if you got them all for $15 each it would still be $135 worth of test kits. Not sure how that compares to running Trident for 6mo at $100. Salifert kits only do 50-60 tests usually.
  10. I can’t wait to set mine up but my tank is cycling so would be pointless now. Apex is funny with the small ranges. Even with seeing my salinity and PH it looks kinda nuts but it’s only fluctuating like 1-2% 😂
  11. I’ve had peppermints work in the past. It always seemed like there was a threshold for them to work well, I usually hit about 5 or 6 and then all of a sudden the aptaisia would disappear. Another thing I’ve injected them with was the Alk solution from 2 part. Makes them harden up weird and usually die. Worth a try in small quantities, I always had larger tanks so it wouldn’t any significant swings injecting them. just be glad it’s Aptaisa, majanos are a billion times worse!
  12. Wait...were you the one who did a fish room addition? So far looking great! Love the scape!
  13. We could all argue what to get, Ive been down the piece meal route. What I can tell you about my hodgepodge system is it works great, pumps out 0 tds with minimal DI resin use, and is easy to use. That said, it took me many years to get to this point. It looks SUPER STUPID, but it’s all there! Things that I wish I had earlier on are: 1. Pressure gauge 2. triple inline TDS meter 3. good quality membrane (of those I’ve used, Spectrapure spectraselect plus 99% has been my favorite) https://www.aquacave.com/spectrapure-spectraselect-plus-99-percent-rejection-90-gpd-ro-membrane-mem-sp-0090.html I would recommend if this is your first unit to purchase one put together for reefing. Some of the issues I had early on were just due to getting minor parts wrong like the flow restrictor improperly sized with the initial package. When you don’t fully understand how they work you may not think much of how much resin you blow through or why your output is lower than expected. I would shoot for a unit with 2 pre filters, membrane, and a DI. You can expand from there in the future. Getting the inline triple TDS meter helps you see what’s going on at each stage. I have one on the inlet, one after the membrane, and one after the resin. As others have said, knowing your personal tap waters TDS can help you know if you need different filters or additional add ons. I lived in NE Vancouver with 120 TDS and now in Camas at <60 TDS. Some areas of Portland have only like 5 TDS from the rap. Others probably higher. All can warrant different unit selection. hand held TDS meters are usually <$15 online and will give you a better idea where to start.
  14. Look at post #84 https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/ato-reservoir-ideas.353349/page-5#post-4390925 find an ottoman or little cabinet at Ross or something and get a 10 gal from Petco.
  15. Awesome! Brian told me about you getting another tank, surprised it took so long! 🤣 Looks like the wife wanted that wall gone if she had you move it after all that!
  16. JayR picked it up yesterday, this thread can be closed.
  17. Welcome! Will definitely need to see a build thread for the new 280, sounds cool! I am enjoying my BTAs more and more these days, thinking my switch to the bigger tank may have to have even more 😀. super vibrant color on your RBTAs!
  18. I wonder if higher water pressure would clear it? Grab a garden hose to JG fitting and see if the high water pressure clears it? i was thinking straw cleaner but those are usually only 10” long or so 😐
  19. I have 80lbs left over from my build, it was such a deal I overbought! 😂 passing along a deal to someone else. This is 8x 10lb bags for $30. You’d be hard pressed to find sand this cheap that’s new 😁 Pickup in Camas, WA https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/caribsea-aragonite-aquarium-sand-10-lbs-2153529?cm_mmc=PPC-Connexity-_-PTC_P_NTR_PPC-Connexity_FY18-Pet-AllProducts&szredirectid={gclid}
