  1. Hope that wasn't a precursor of things to come. Would hate to see such a handsome urchin banished for bad dietary habits. On the other hand, he would look cool in my refugium. ?
  2. That wall in your 80 looked pretty sharp! Obviously a lot more work than just painting but a pretty unique look.
  3. Good guess! Basically at 23rd and Alberta so really close to you. Good to see another reefer in the neighborhood - although it sounds like you might be on the move. Sorry for the threadjack Absolutely. You will find that there are folk on this board from all over PDX and the greater NW so no matter where you end up, you will likely have someone nearby to help out in emergencies or just hang out with. Also good feedback on vendors, local shops etc. plus lots of home grown expertise on everything having to do with reefing up to and including building your own tank (see pdxmonkeyboy for example). Hope the job works out for you and feel free to let us know how to help with the build.
  4. So they kept you in the trunk eh? This explains a lot j/k I have to use a stool as well but favor the ones on wheels so I can relocate them while my hands are full of (fill in the blank). It never seems to be quite where you need it.
  5. Haha! As a fellow inner NE'ster I hear you there! In our defense, however, I blame all the transplants (sorry folks). Welcome Absolutely and congrats on the job. Will be keeping an eye out for your build thread.
  6. Well, not counting the bacteria of course...
  7. Super clean looking little tank! Will be curious to see it when you start getting it stocked... with the appropriate amount of patience of course! Good luck!
  8. Ouch. Sorry to hear. I hate to lose anything so having a full tank of coral go south must be really painful. Hopefully more pulls through than you expect. Good luck!
  9. Nice work. Painful story about the cheap acrylic - thanks for the warning. I really like your approach of building a frag system first. I have always set up a DT then never had the patience to go back and do a frag setup even though it would be really helpful. This way, you can have things already acclimated and growing once you have a DT ready. Good luck with the rest of the build. Looks like you have things well in hand.
  10. I love how anything can devolve into a cat thread! We have three and the older ones used to LOVE to sleep on top of the canopy of my 120 gallon running two 400 watt MH fixtures plus VHO. It was like the perfect cat sauna! They are bummed that the new tank is LED and no canopy (insert sad cat face here)
  11. I guess this is one good thing about coming from the east side... I miss the speed cameras. Sorry to hear Daniel - maybe Jeff can petition to have them removed as a detriment to commerce.
  12. Wait a second - I thought you were trying to emptly out your tank? If you win this one feel free to store it at my place ?
  13. You are killing me here Cody - so many nice pieces!
  14. Looks like you may have some room in your first chamber (with the filter sock). As I am reading that, both your return and your skimmer are picking up from the second chamber which would help. Skimmer seems to return to the first chamber to take advantage of the bubble plates - which should be fine. Maybe someone else sees something I am missing though.
  15. Awesome! My list just keeps getting longer!
  16. Beautiful pics! Looks like things are really healthy.
  17. Like that scan! Is that just under blues?
  18. Welcome back! I did the same thing - gone from around 09/10 until last spring. Just got the new tank up about 7 months ago. Lots of things have changed in that time (new coral, fish, technogy) but people here are still really helpful and knowledgeable so I am sure you will have lots of fun getting up and running again. Cheers!
  19. Nice! Also works straight from the regular full site or mobile version if you ever find yourself without taptalk.
  20. It is actually still there - try the far right icon that looks like a piece of paper with a magnifying glass over it (well, sort of). I thought the same thing but Jeremy found it.
  21. Touché! Glad it worked and welcome aboard (checking for unintended double entendre).
  22. You might want to send TheClark a message - he had to do some back-end magic to get this unstuck for someone else just the other day.
  23. Bummer - I was going to ask you about her. I actually used sea hares in my undergrad research thesis so we have a history ?
  24. Good stuff Kim! Jeff - what time does the the chalice sale start tomorrow? The one I got from Kim looks a little lonely ?
