  1. Makes you wonder about what he was eating? Good to hear about the sailfin - I haven't had one before but my better half really likes them so am thinking it might be on the stocking list this time around.
  2. I am sure there are some degrees of individual variation but I have had luck with bristle tooth tangs like Kohl tangs, scopas tangs, powder blue and powder brown tangs as well as clown and sohal tangs. They all grazed quite a bit but the Kohl was probably the most active.
  3. Makes a lot of sense. If only there were a way of efficiently reintroducing... guessing we may be in that position sooner rather than later.
  4. Cool. I will keep an eye out for it.
  5. Hi Ron - where you able to get any additional info on this guy? I know it's a long shot but thought I would check. Thanks!
  6. This is really good feedback, especially for people who may not have had/maintained large colonies before. Granted, it may be a bit of a "first world" coral problem but hey, a guy /gal can dream can't they? Thanks for the info!
  7. Thanks for filling in with the camera Kim. - nice job! Great to see everyone and finally see Roy's fantastic setup! Was hoping to see the elusive CB rainbows but they were all packed up by the time I got there. Doesn't pay to be late! Still managed to come away with some nice SPS frags from Roy's tank so I got to bring a bit of it home with me. Colors look fantastic so keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe in 10 years or so I'll have some colonies like his. Thanks for all the work settings things up Kim, Holly, Sirena and Roy. Had a wonderful time.
  8. Nice! Definitely a generous guy - has helped me out a lot getting the new tank stocked. Cheers!
  9. I need one of those badly since I lost my powder brown. He was also doing a great job.
  10. Really want one of these but can't afford to have another tang-induced tank meltdown ☠️
  11. Haha - best be careful there! Well, at least I can say I haven't killed any yet. (Peaks over to check on the new additions with fingers crossed).
  12. That would be my suggestion as well. Maybe also Patrick at Saltwater obsessions? I wouldn't be surprised if some of the tanks he does maintenance on still run them. Sounds like you got it fired up already!
  13. Thanks Scott - I will hit you up for a lesson at some point. I haven't really kept them in previous tanks so am a bit under informed. The ones I got from you, however, have kind of brought me around.
  14. Bummer. I was looking after my powder brown took out most of my other fish with what was likely velvet. Sigh.
  15. I was curious about this myself. Did you find it locally or just thinking about ordering?
  16. Hey Ron, do you have any history on this guy? How long has he been in captivity and what kind of system? How does he do with other fish and tangs in particular? Diet? Sorry know it wasn't your fish but thought you might have some info from previous owner. Thanks!
  17. There are some serious corals in there! Looks fantastic - nice work! Guess I shouldn't say "work" while you are enjoying your Saturday morning cartoons... sorry about that.
  18. Hey Holly - I ended up taking that zoa colony of which you speak so you know where you can get some whenever you want. You will just need to frag them tough as I have never tried. I know, lame ?
  19. Whoa, that is amazing! Glad to see my purchase yesterday went toward securing something really special... even if just a tiny little weensie bit of it. Do I get visitation rights?
  20. Bummer - you will be missed for sure... as will your great photos!
  21. I think I saw one of these today and was wondering what it was. Very cool.
  22. Kim - can I have one of the small joker plays please? Looks like I should be up there tomorrow.
  23. Knew you snagged some cool stuff before I got there! Thanks for sharing!
