  1. You are welcome to use my 220V Lincoln mig welder. I live in SW Portland not far from Washington Square.
  2. It would surely be helpful to neophytes to overlay (photoshop?) an identification tag marking the primary corals in each photo. Having a description above or below the photo often does not help because many photos contain multiple corals.
  3. I would enjoy that. Are you going to the Saturday meeting?
  4. I got the equivalent of bio balls for you. Never used. Kaldnes Bio filter Media! Going to the monthly meeting later this week?
  5. My wife in in Las Vegas with the girls, so I would be happy to help if you more healthy back in needed. Standing by for more info. paulhimmel@comcast.net
  6. With all your success with RC's and the skills of electronics and mechanics and related minutiae, you are primed for Coral stardom.
  7. USB is now is the good hands of CNC awaiting the next member's use.
  8. Good news, I am finished with the USB Par meter and can deliver it to CNC or other convenient place. Yes, I am happy to cough up the $50 I owe. Still need guidance with the Club paypal account. Let me share my experience for new users. I tried to get a definitive reading for various spot throughout my tank. This proved impossible since I discovered that the slightest change in angle, shadow of your arm, 1/2" movement, gives a wide range of results. So I now am just looking for an approximate range of reading for the general spots I am interested in. Guess this is why the experts say to be ready to move the frag until it is happy.
  9. Opps, last time I used the par meter, I just put $50 into someone's hands. Now I am happy to cough up the deposit, but don't know how to make the transfer. Instructions for dummies needed. Paul
  10. Thanks, my figures are crossed. I will try in the mornig.
  11. SQ 520 Apogee was delivered in fine shape and appears to be working fine.
  12. Small correction, I posted on Neptune's forum, not R2R
  13. The current APEX program was set up six years ago and then the aquarium was taken down. Now I have a completely new set up, with much different equipment except for the Apex Gold. I also have a somewhat better understanding of programming.Since I also need to update my firmware, what is the easiest way to erase and start over again? Or is there a better way to approach this? An extra headache popped up when I tried to update my very old firmware. After following their instructions, I got blocked because the EXE file will not run. I get a message "the host name or IP address is invalid" I posted this up on R2R but got no replies.
  14. Looks like you are approaching retirement the right way. Good for you and your wife.
  15. I am happy so far with my tank from Custom Aquariums!
  16. Wow, this is too easy! Thanks for the clarification. The six footer I have in my hands with USB style male ends probably came from Apex, but now I see that it doesn't make any difference. Thanks, guys. Paul
  17. How can I tell which I have?
  18. I just might be me. Milwaukee is a bit out of the way. CNC will work next week.
  19. No sympathy, just envy.
  20. Still looking forward to using one of the meters.
  21. Great score. One of the most fascinating scenes in the wild. Hope the worms survive. Keep us posted.
