  1. I wonder, can magnets be cast into reef safe resin? It would be water tight for sure... hmmm You could even make it clear, so you could check for leaks / rust...
  2. Awesome, hit me up in a pm, all I need are a couple pictures and a couple measurements.
  3. My daughter is looking for good stuff to design or print that is reef related for her store. Now that the face shield craze is dying down, we have idle printers. There are tons of already built designs out there. Every type of cradle for every controller, feeders, skimmer parts, fake rocks, the list goes on and on and on and on. That's kind of the issue, picking things to make that people actually want. I am leaning toward the MP40 nem guards as they are pretty expensive and we could easily make our own design from scratch thus honoring licensing policies. For inspiration read more here. Literally a huge list. Not just the pinned post either, lots of good stuff on follow posts. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/3d-printed-aquarium-parts-archive-thread.599807/ If you want to PM that's great or reply here in this thread. If we start making something and you suggested it, we will send free samples
  4. I ran a batch a while back for Brad, decided to run a few more since the printers are finally getting a break. Just looking to get a listing picture but Brad set me up. We good and thank you Always interested in your projects too, shoot a PM any time.
  5. Ya, it's a race to the bottom for sure! I made a few for Brad a while back, he liked em. Keeps the printers busy!
  6. I am looking for one just for designing a better mounting bracket. Photogenic is a plus, so it can be used for listings. Broken is ideal, it doesn't need to work, just look decent. In exchange for your controller, I will send three mounting brackets. We can mail them to each other.
  7. Generally they will hatch, and if you have enough aptasia, start another generation. Part of the reason they take so long to clear out a tank is that the population builds, then fades as the aptasia go away. So it's a good thing if you still have aptasia to kill! Pods do eat the eggs though, so not every batch of eggs will make it.
  8. AWESOME! We tried to stop there once, but we came on a Monday, they were closed to public. Just double check to make sure they are open on whatever day you go. Take pics, that's going to be a fun trip!
  9. Status Update: - We tried to apply the latest plugins, but no luck - Tapatalk now breaks the main web site (non tapatalk) as well. When broken, no one can post or reply or sometimes even view the site. - We had to disable tapatalk until a new plugin or forum software is release. Apologies for the inconvenience, we had good intentions to get it going, but not break the entire site! Usually many people raise a stink when this happens, hopefully updates happen soon.
  10. Meh, just fired up tapatalk, does not look fixed. Investigating further...
  11. Ok, the new plugin is applied. @Bicyclebillif you could give it a quick smoke test, hopefully that did the job.
  12. We are on it, John caught me in email. Thanks for the heads up!
  13. Just sharing if anyone is on the fence. I love this thing. Phosphates on lock, 5 days at .04
  14. Lanthium chloride dosing into a filter sock is a good way to do a controlled lowering of phosphates. Go very very slow though and test every day. You can calculate how much will be removed per dose. Rocks may re-release po4, so keep dosing until it comes down and stays down. Then running GFO as needed is a possible long term solution. In short, just read up on the technique if interested. Too much to describe in one short paragraph As far as the testing disparities, that is tough. It is either human error (easy to do, we all do it), expired test kits, bad test kit batch (it happens). If you have a buddy or an LFS that can do a test to compare that would help. Then go after the kit that is giving the bad results.
  15. That's awesome, post pics of the cute/ugly little guys, looking forward to it.
  16. Yeah, my daughter and I sure tried. We had a heck of a time keeping them fed. Hope you have a good aptasia supply, they are voracious!
  17. Really like this Daniel, nice work as ever. Love watching your stuff grow and evolve.
  18. Thank you! I was surprised how nice the monti is. Just tipping it 45 degrees exposed the beautiful patterns. Really glad to have room to grow some new stuff too. Naso was super dramatic, put on stress colors and lay on the bottom panting. Once the Nori came out, it was old times again.
  19. Moved him to the way far back. About 10 frags were generated in this process of course Tipped the tyree blue flower petal monti sideways so you can actually see it! This opened up a huge area to grow something that is a different color This will also allow the 'flat topped' 'tom peterson haircut' hydnophora green reaper to keep growing!
  20. Indeed, it was time to switch! Running .08, not .34... A few button clicks and the robot goes to work! Not the robots fault, my fault. Manual or automatic testing this mistake could have been made. Sooooo nice to be back to a reasonable phosphate. LaCL dosing got me there... Backing that off and monitoring daily so it doesn't crash to zero...
  21. Good example of how the colorimeter is sooooo much better than my eyes at this. Probably time to switch back to low range po4, hooray!
  22. Duh, I remember, glad you do! Good to know on the swing, since I use trident to control the reactor that is a bit of a big deal... hmmm...
