  1. Thanks for the insight bert! I really don't have a problem with rebooting all this rock as it's a fortified mansion for the other serious issue i have which are the acoel flatworm population that i let get to epic portions to the point i'm convinced if i were to dose my tank i would nuke it but that's a whole new post. I have tried to stay away from trying peroxide, having a cleaner shrimp that's always on me no matter what. I'm just definitely going to need help removing the yuma. The yuma is the only attached coral besides a small cap i can easily remove.
  2. I need some help with my turf algae, my few turbos and trochus won't touch it. My Yellow tang and Flame angel pick at it but can never dent it. I'm not sure what my Po4 is as i have no kit for it at the moment but the No3 is normally around 10 ppm I run a carbon/gfo reactor but have been lacking at keeping the gfo replaced consistently. I try and do at least two 40g WC's a month. (140g total water vol) I'm aware my problem is nutrient export and where those problems might be and would love to get some ideas and opinions of others on how i can fix/improve these areas. One problem is, i've never managed to get the pest algaes to seed/root in my sump where i want it. Instead it tends to root everywhere else like my overflow box and my tied in frag tray. Everything started working backward basically, even my chaeto stopped growing. I have been trying to figure out how to get a ATS built and running. What critter do i need that will eat this stuff? Urchins? If Urchins, which will be best and where can i get one? I plan to replace the Flame angel with maybe a two bar rabbit. Any ideas? If it wasn't for a large bright orange yuma stuck on the tonga i would probably pull all the rock in my display and start over with the little bit that's in my sump, thats my last resort though. Many many issues but i'll start with this one.
  3. Salifert is sharp and instant
  4. I'll be interested in the chromis whenever your ready. Sorry to hear the tanks coming down
  5. Hey Bill, i definitely need a new piece of that tyree undata (i finally lost it, it was one of my favs) if you can save me a few pieces of stuff and pm me what you're asking for some stuff i would be forever grateful, having some tank issues at the moment. Also i wouldn't mind at all to have some Radion talk and share and learn tips. Funny, $1500 in lighting and when things start looking bad i put them back under my old Reefstars and in a week or two they pop again.
  6. Hi Bill! Tank is looking great! Are these the new gen 4's? Are you using a reeflink or controlling them through your Apex?
  7. This 1000x I'm turning into a headless chicken quicker and quicker.
  8. Looks like Rudy has some Mary Jane's available. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Live-Coral-WYSIWYG-3-Polyps-Mary-Jane-Zoa-/391587804521
  9. Very nice color match on the stain, assuming it's your work. From one finish carpenter to possibly another.....Though, i thought you were a painter I'm starting to look at you as a jack of trades Very nice work man!
  10. Love seeing a new tank coming together! Suzie, i believe i read Brian got a nice Rainbow bubble tip from you in the past, when your tank is ready, i've got a nice one for you as a tank warming gift Can't wait for it to come to life !
  11. Super clean looking! Nice work! What is being dosed? I see you have a reactor setup, are you using the doser to dose aminos or trace or something like that?
  12. Now THAT is a overflow box! Can't wait to see it all come together!
  13. Quick & Dirty tutorial on posting pics with our current format. Firstly, i'm using a PC running windows 7 ultimate 64bit with Chrome. I can't really help with posting from a phone or mac since i only post from my PC The easiest way is using a image hosting site such as Photobucket which is what i'll be using to try and illustrate this. I use a old Sony Cyber-shot 8.1mp and a Iphone 4s The Sony goes straight to my PC via usb and the Iphone photos gets uploaded to the cloud then downloaded to my PC but both still need to be uploaded to a image hosting site. Once the photos are uploaded to your PC and you have made a Photobucket account login and upload the selected photos. Find your photo and you'll be here.... Click once on the link i added the arrow to and you should see a quick msg that says "copied" in a yellow flash box. Next make a post like "Hey! check out my nem! He's doing great! Next step, simply hit ctrl-v or right click and paste directly in the box you're writing in. The Photobucket image address you clicked on prior is still copied in memory I like to hit enter once or twice to separate photos but hey, that's just me Next is, what if we see something in our tank that we need help I.D'ing but we can't manage to get a photo of it and have to "borrow" a photo from Google or what not? Or even if we see a cool system we want to share. This one is a little different but just as easy. "I can find a photo of exactly what it looks like online, but i can't seem to upload mine" Find the photo you want to share or need help with and right click and choose "Copy image address" Shown here... Then you're going to want to click here to insert your photo/link... Next you will see this, this is where you press ctrl-v or right click and paste and click OK... I can't emphasise enough to utilize the full editor and use the "preview post" option when trying to post pics. This way you'll know immediately if the formatting is correct and the post will be shown as intended. I hope this helps to crack the code so to speak to make it a little easier to post some pics!
  14. The 29g and the 40b's were the tanks that i had on hand immediately that i trust, the sump would require some repair work and didn't want to give you another problem so offered that up last. I would try and hang tough until the petco sale and pick up and brand new tank or maybe someone else has a quality sump they're willing to part with. Quick question, did you have the sump still setup like in the pic in your introduction thread?
  15. I have one of these coiled around my gate valve incase i ever came across a problem like this, thankfully i've not needed it yet. https://www.amazon.com/CrazyEve-Flexible-Cleaning-Interior-Assorted/dp/B008LR2KCA
  16. Just after a quick search i've got a few tanks.. Drain that sucker if you haven't already! 3 40b's standard 29g 2 10g and a chambered sump that needs some off the baffles re welded that have separated from the sump wall causing it to bow when full.
  17. Please enter me too! Wow Kim how cool is that, incredibly generous of you! Congrats on your epic win!
  18. Weird, yeah idk this was the first link i clicked. Pretty sure it's the same one. http://www.apethub.com/macro-aqua-m-50-mini-hang-on-protein-skimmer-60gal/
  19. This is a hang on the back skimmer and was not designed as a in sump skimmer. The fact it was full of skimmate doesn't really say much for me personally because i have no idea how long it took to generate that much skimmate. Maybe he had it set to skim wet or maybe he just didn't empty the collection cup in a month IDK Google is your friend. Read some reviews, my first clue was it's under $50 brand new
  20. I felt very much the same, i've stood next to that tank several times and never thought i'd see a pic of it being taken down.
  21. Kevin Erickson is apparently the President of MASNA and i think the board has been wanting to speak with him. I would consider this one a good necro!
