  1. i would love the reef angel and the UV Thank you!!
  2. whoa! hope im not doing something wrong because in my 125g system when i feel its time for some Mg. i normally dose 17oz. Testing 1st of course
  3. I'm pretty sure this is how i understood it too, Mg. should stay relatively stable in a stable system helping keep Alk. and Ca. in check. If i understood you correctly with a stable system you should be ready to dose Mg. right about the time your gallons of alk. and Ca. are used up. I've noticed that's when my tanks have done the best but sadly have not achieved that in a while. I could of course be waay off

    Funny

Haha! Reminds me of when i walked in the room one day and saw this.
  5. I have a HOB overflow box if that helps you out. You can always use a rubbermaid tub for a temp sump to get your gear back up and running.
  6. I want that Red sea banner/towel! And Holly's awesome little fishy area rugs ;p
  7. I have a few 40g breeders laying around but i see thats is what your already using, wish i could be of more help, sorry about your troubles.
  8. YAY!!!! just had to finally do a 50g WC with a MJ1200 yesterday, not fun! So, yes sir very much so.
  9. Yeah the little buggers got 98% of mine too before they said screw this! Let's leave these last 5-6 and try out those tasty lookin things!
  10. Yes, inside the tank.(small cube and very small box) Only concern i have is getting the best silicone i can get. The maker of the box made it in a hurry and out of spec and the bottom panel is paper thin(about 1/16th) so its a concern to get a really good seal all the way around the box and aquarium safe of course. Just wasn't sure if the silicone for aquarium use is any better than what we can get at Lowes or Home depot.
  11. Well looks like they got to my Torch as well, lost a huge head and another is working its way free. My favorite coral in the tank. After all these years this may be the last straw. This all makes sense now. (and i should have known better) Every time i shined a light in to check on everything one pep was next to the torch and the other pep was on the other side of the tank close to the duncans. As far a healthy vs. unhealthy, these were the biggest and healthiest corals in my tank. Shrimp, just like crabs are optimistic feeders and can give a rats behind if its healthy of not. They have their favorites too, a long time ago i got a nice super healthy chalice from Scott guess who took little time to have a taste? Researching peppermints eating coral brings up many stories and many reported they were targeting certain LPS, sadly those listed were Duncans,Torches and Acans I've had probably more than a dozen peps over the years but only 3 rouges, they DO exist and i think these last two may have killed my love and passion for the hobby. I'm by no means rich. Well, i feel 0.07% better after my small rant. Thanks for listening all.
  12. Thanks for the replies. Yeah, all i'm doing is attaching a small overflow box.
  13. I know some versions at Lowes/Home depot are good for aquarium use but what would be best especially for acrylic to glass?
  14. Or is there a better choice? https://www.amazon.com/Black-Aquarium-Silicone-Sealant-Cartridge/dp/B00EZB2MDI/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
  15. First of all a moment silence for my beloved Duncan........ Okay, now is this normal? I still can't find one like that. Because for the last week or so I've hunting predatory asterina stars that I found on one of trachys in a sister tank so immediately went searching for them in the main, and found some. With big white spots of Coraline starting to pop up (stars eating it) and my Duncan starting to lose heads, I failed to realize/or really think of if, one of the peppermints decided to make a home at my mag float that sits right above the Duncan. Question is what peppermints do I have here? This time I quickly caught one of them there with closed polyps. Jailed the other minutes later The darker one actually looks grayesh/blue with a red bottom Sorry not use to posting on a phone.

    My 120

Just curious, are you using a camera filter with the picture of that Trachy? I sometimes use a gel filter to help gauge the health of some of my corals.
  18. Well done Jeff! Look at that curious inquisitive look on his little face!
  19. Still looking, not looking for anything specific. last two pumps i was using for water changes decided to seize up in between uses. It's proving very difficult to mix and move water with a MJ1200 in a 130g system.
  20. Pictures or at least species names might help you make more trades.
  21. Heck! i'll take fourth place on this one
