  1. Really sorry to hear about the eels Matty, i knew how stoked you were. Glad to see you sticking to it though! I knew you would
  2. That was my first thought! Wow! Great deal GLWS
  3. I just finished my 64oz bottle of tech m. I started off at 1290ppm couple days ago and as of a couple of mins ago its at 1540ppm. This is in 135g and my main fear is i wouldn't have enough and sure enough, nope i knew i should have ordered more. So far i see little to no difference yet I was just now reading that it may be lithium in the tech m that has the effect on this evil stuff.
  4. Tell that to my mj1200 impeller I didn't read it all yet, i just remembered about my poor little mj1200 on the floor.
  5. Hey Randall, i'll take the $10 This will be my 3rd try with a Forest fire, maybe i can make this one work!
  6. Yep, i just recently removed my two from the display and banished them to the sump. I walked by and noticed one of them shredding a chalice and since they were both around the same size they both had to go.
  7. Looks like about 100g http://reef.diesyst.com/volcalc/volcalc.html
  8. I use the same. 10ml per cup for 10min with 2 rinsing containers after. Two turkey basters, one for when they are in the dip and one for the rinsing containers. My shrimps have survived every dip as any leftover Bayer will kill them in a heartbeat from what i understand
  9. What browser are you guys using that can't view?
  10. Hmm, strange try this http://400greef.hopto.org/img/main.cgi?next_file=main.htm Copy and paste that in your address bar
  11. Click the view video button.
  12. Now these are the worms to lose sleep over. Gotta love how the hermit ditched his house in the first vid
  13. The ones i know of that are beneficial are brownish in color. The ones that are dangerous are red in color (fireworms) i would try and get a close up of the head if you could. The way the trap works is by luring them in with the scent of food and the fact most are not smart enough to figure out how to then escape. If you make a trap for the intent purpose of catching worms just remember even a knife blade wide for scent flow could be the difference between escape and capture. Your fish and crabs are much faster than the worm so you can rest easy there. Only the sick will fall prey.
  14. Bristleworms are basically part of your clean up crew and are usually not a problem unless they are No.2 pencil thick and 2' long But if you really want to remove them you can try the soda bottle fish trap contraption and wedge it up on some rocks so the opening is slightly pointed up and bait it during lights out. I use a large Snapple bottle and rubber band. You may have to add a few holes for scent flow but be sure to not make them large enough so they can then escape!
  15. Yep! Works nice! I've been looking into setting up a different one, i've been using a old cell phone and athomecamera Have fun!
  16. I'm about to start my battle with this stuff, i was thinking on trying Kent tech M but worried about parameters and corals. The most affected areas are home to Anemones so spot treating might be hard. Both rocks are softball sized and easily removable so i also considered dipping the affected areas in peroxide but with the nems attached makes it a real pain, one of the rocks has 2 nems on it. I had a small two bar rabbitfish that was making a dent in it but lost him and need to acquire another
  17. First, welcome to the club! Here's how i'm running my current sump with a Bean Animal overflow design, from the far right, full siphon, emergency drain then the open channel. There is a small Maxijet 1200 in the return section that circulates water for the far left chamber that i tumble chaeto in. The water is then returned to the baffles I suppose this small chamber could also be used for a deep sand bed or maybe a Marinepure block. I choose to run filter socks because i'd rather clean 4-5 socks then empty all the rock from my sump and siphon out all the built up detritus, my frag tank also drains into this chamber so when the socks are not being used it builds up fast. The chaeto grows and nothing floods in a power outage, so i'm happy for now but i'm sure there are much better ways to run this that i don't know about yet so hopefully we both learn something from this great community we have here. Again, welcome to the club and good luck with your system!
  18. Looking good Scott! Bad timing, i wish i would have known. You might have seen those 3 new 40b's when you were at my house, i would have givin ya one
  19. Yeah, after i thought about it for a moment i realized that was a real possibility and edited my post.
