  1. Price lowered to 300 firm. I need to get this guy into a new home so I can consolidate these tanks. Again, not looking for somebody who's full HumbleFish, I'm just wanting somebody who will love this fish.
  2. It draws off the screen for me on a couple of the sites tabs/pages. Probably just a simple CSS margin error. I was just poking fun.
  3. I'm not expecting people to have the same quarantine regimen, just that they love their fish the same as their dog and are sad when they die. You'd be surprised how many reef hobbyists only care about the money loss. If you're interested, let's talk.
  4. Haha. Thanks. They are my pets and I treat them as such. Anything worth doing in this hobby is worth doing right. I love this fish. If I wasn't moving to a new house in a few months (I'm having to combine tanks, both with yellows), I would keep this fish.... Both are amazing in quality, but I've had the other a couple months longer, so this one is getting sold. Sad stuff.
  5. This Yellow Tang started life as a Biota fish. I put it through a full humblefish quarantine/medication/antibiotic process. This fish has been in my system for over a year and there have been no new additions to the tank in over a year. Jeff@Cuttlefish and a couple other folks can vouch for me, while also telling you that I'm perhaps too crazy about quarantine. 300 obo (Sorry for only a couple pictures. Out and about normally, but can see a camera coming from across the room)
  6. I'm on Comcast and not seeing any issues. Not sure if that helps.
  7. I have the icecap scrubber and it's kind of cheapo/crappy and leaks like crazy, but it does work. Produces a thick, albeit not uniform, carpet of GHA. I designed my own, but the 3d printed parts weren't exactly water tight. I really liked my design too, thinking of having it cut out of acrylic or even 1/4" glass. If I had to suggest a design change for yours, i'd suggest making the output port bigger. It WILL get clogged with algae at that size. I recommend at least a 1" hole with a 3/4" backup above that. Other than that, your DIY is legit. I think it'll work just fine.
  8. What brand carbon block, out of curiosity
  9. Does it have the rubber seal rings only both ends?
  10. If you're ever unsure if water may get into a connection, you can use some debate inducing dielectric grease to join your cords. I've been using it for 30 years in extreme conditions on both ac and dc. It'll make sure any water is displaced and prevent this kind of thing from happening (if it was from water). I will agree that this doesn't look like water damage. It looks like either a loose connection or a cheap underrated splitter. Those things are made for Christmas lights and probably are only rated for 4-7 amps max. Don't skimp when it comes to your tank. Get something rated for power tools or appliances. I'd put money on the conductors inside that thing being oxidized and overheated to the point where resistance caused the metal to fully liquify.
  11. If you have the option, pull fresh air from outside for your skimmer. That's helped my pH stay higher than before as well as more stable. Also, not knocking the advice of the scrubber, because it's super effective, but using outside air or even a recirculating setup is a little safer than using CO2 scrubbing media if you're not super confident in your setup. If your skimmer has a cup float switch that kills the skimmer, then it's pretty safe, but otherwise I would avoid it.
  12. I have one. Pretty sure it's in solid shape. If you're interested, I'll give it a test to make sure. PM me.
  13. Must......resist..... being.....an.....[language filter]........
  14. Super good deal. But I think your link is bad. **Edit, I think the preview in my email somehow broke the link. It appears to work now that I've seen it on the actual site.
  15. Pretty sure you just made up those two words... but if not, I'd check diagon-alley. Careful with that flue powder though.... Wanna go halfsies on some eye-of-newt?
  16. Spoken like a person who's never lived outside of the NW. When I hear people from the east coast talk about TDS on the forums, they are in the hundreds every time.
  17. Well look at that…. 51…. Thanks for the heads up!
  18. It changed my life for the better, yeah. I still don't trust the thing. It's boned me more than a couple times which to me means it's not worth the cost. I'd rather use a Hanna nitrate tester. Yeah.... It's... THAT bad.
  19. I have other gripes, but yeah... That'll do it! Also, pull out that cuvette and clean it with some q-tips and a 50/50 ethyl alcohol and water mix. Changed my life.
  20. Me a couple years ago thinks you're a jerk for rubbing this in..... Me now, with a generator in the garage, only hates you out of jealousy now.
  21. Yeah, PETG or bust.
  22. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4709077 Seems to be the only readily available/free version of a wetside cover. A couple more anemone guards though...
