  1. So you are going to give us mere mortal reef keepers a chance eh? πŸ˜ƒ
  2. Glad someone is keeping track πŸ˜ƒ We were debating among a couple of red millis and Darcy picked so wasn't sure what I actually brought home in the end. Lame, I know...
  3. I'm in! Unless that is the one I just picked up last weekend...
  4. Seahorse had some nice looking rainbow BTAs in this week - not sure about pricing. They even had a couple with the white specks on them, which I think are kind of cool (can't recall if they have their own name).
  5. Nice looking fish for sure. Didn't Jeff have one of these for a while - maybe this is the one. GLWS.
  6. Well that could have been worse! Good to know the noise cancelling feature works πŸ˜ƒ
  7. Should look good in my tank then 😁
  8. I find the sound of frogs oddly relaxing - up to a point at least. Kind of cool that you have some in your yard. Guessing you will probably find all kinds of interesting stuff if you put that under that water under the scope.
  9. Nice tank! Interesting that he has some not necessarily reef safe angels in there but obviously working out for him. Impressive SPS collection.
  10. Very nice. The Alk variation that remains is interesting in that it doesn't seem to be related to time of day (light cycle) but rather over a longer period... unless I am misreading that 😁
  11. I saw this the other day and kept forgetting to post it - glad someone else thought to. I love the variety of these critters. Jeff had one at CnC this weekend.
  12. Indeed I am. Have three of them over the 125 so one for every two feet (72 inch tank). I have given up posting pics until I have time to actually do so with my "real" camera and work them up - John gives me too much grief for the crappy cell pics πŸ˜ƒ I will eventually do an update to the build thread one of these days...
  13. Well that is going to be a lot of light! Second the customer service aspect... we are pretty spoiled having @danlu_gt in the local community. It's pretty impressive how having someone who is handy with 3D printing can really customize their products on the fly to accommodate all the unusual use cases we come up with in this community. He helped me a lot as well with some unusual tank mounts that made it possible to do a rack installation. Good stuff!
  14. Glad to see you are keeping the coral safe Jeff πŸ˜ƒ
  15. Very nice gesture Jeff - so glad you have been able to keep the shop open and the crew busy during these challenging times. We are lucky to have so many dedicated and concerned LFS and owners in the area - which is especially noticeable these days.
  16. Man - if only I had room for that. Nice deal!
  17. These are the lights I had on my tank previously for about 4 years. Only lost one UV diode in that time and was able to get a replacement for it from them. Definitely worked well but no tamping or fine tuning of the light (three channels - blue, white, moonlight). Definitely very cost effective for the amount of light you get but also very basic. They are helpful with info on user repairs although I had mixed results with response times. Would definitely recommend as a low cost/minimal fuss option though. I don’t have any first hand experience with their more expensive programmable models.
  18. This is a good point - the lack of lateral spillage makes the vertical positioning a lot more flexible for sure and that height would probably allow a pretty good, even coverage as Daniel mentions.
  19. Thanks John. I think this is the crux of my lack of understanding here... Thanks for walking me through it. Almost picked one of these up as part of that sale the other day - really bummed that tank was just too tall to work.
  20. Hey John, more general question. I have noticed on several of the related posts on this (including R2R) that people are using multiple virtual outputs when it seems like one could code this all in one (e.g. adding the timing feature to Alk High for instance). Is there a reason for that other than being able to use the output for multiple controls (where you wouldn't necessarily want the same timing for instance)? Just curious... feels like I am missing something in the logic.
  21. Haha... well there certainly can be an element of that for sure. In my case, I was definitely having issues but tough to nail it down. Will be curious to see how quickly/how high the Lithium levels come back (assuming they even went down 😁).
  22. I have three of the ReeFi extremes over my 72 inch (mounting them them the long direction) and the coverage is great. Daniel could weigh in but two could work if you are willing to live with a bit of drop-off on the ends I would think. 60 inches is definitely that awkward "in between" size when looking at lights of this style but really depends on your particular needs/wants.
  23. Always good to have more data! I seem to recall Bert saying he had run into high Lithium as well but can't recall if it caused him issues or not. Might also be one of those things where it alone isn't a problem but in combination with other factors could be. Lets face it, the chemistry involved in a reef and it's diverse elements is anything but simple πŸ˜ƒ
  24. Interesting. Well, not sure why but a bunch of water changes later coral is living again so... Always could be something that wasn't showing up in the tests but other methods (carbon, poly filters, etc.) failed to have an effect. Should send another sample off sometime soon.
