  1. I bought this rock from another club member last year, getting ready to aquascape my tank. I ended up not using it, and went in a different direction. Never got it even wet. It's a big piece, you'll need a tank with at least 15" of depth. Lots of nice negative space. Paid $200 from another club member, asking $200. No shipping, located near Bethany in PDX.
  2. I got a reminder this morning, that no matter how prepared I think I am... Salt Water wins, sometime where you least expect it. This is my EB832, on a wall, about three feet above the sump. I use the green xmas 3x1 angled outlet extension to plug two heaters into one outlet. (My idea of redundancy, rather use two that add up to the wattage I want - in case one dies) Heater cord goes straight down, no bents. You'd think nothing could get UP, into the outlet. Was straightening cords this morning, and got This Surprise. Threw heater and green expander away. Happy I had spares.
  3. When I remodeled my fishroom last year, I used two online suppliers. One was best pricing for union ball valves, and one for colored pipe/fittings and misc fitings. I price checked each piece between them, some parts surprised me. The whole build way gray sch 80, just to have a zero white build. https://www.supplyhouse.com/ https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/ Here's an example of what I spent. For the valves on the water change station outlets, I didn't use unions. Just straight glue on valves. (smaller, less bulky). They still turn as easy as butter. I tend to use these regularly (weekly if not daily), for getting ad hoc RO or extra salt water out. 1" Flui-PRO PVC Compact Ball Valve - Gray / Socket https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/1-flui-pro-pvc-compact-ball-valve-gray-socket-fp-gs-010.html
  4. nicely done. All of the custom work inside my hood I've done with Al bars from HD.
  5. Congratulations to all the winners, and big thanks to @SuncrestReef for running. Although I didn't win, it's been fun checking every day. Great club activity!
  6. Thanks, but I'm really looking forward to growing it out. I think I've figured out the primo spot too.
  7. @CuttleFishandCoral, you nailed it! Got my Mystery box home yesterday and settled. I asked for color, I'm a sucker for yellow sticks, and cool chalice. All boxes checked, and the surprises were great. They're not placed, but will be soon. Feel free to correct or name these. I think you said one of the sticks was tigers blood. Thanks Jeff! Corals on frag rack, and two lps on sand behind. What a great looking scoli and Lobo (?) Sticks #1 (left) & #2 (right). Kaye loves the little pink heads on the left one. Sticks #3 (left) & 4 (right). I'm a sucker for the yellow in the right one. Jason Fox My Miami (if I caught your description right) Pretty Goni, that's just opening this morning ... And a fat head Dendro that looks bland under morning blues and looks great during the daytime colors. ... and a few Ricordia I forgot to get a pict of.
  8. I busted a pin off one of my bulbs on the Tropic Marine 110-Watt UV sterilizer, picked up from @Higher Thinking. Anyone have one in town to purchase, or a recommendation on-line to buy from? Tropic Marine HF Pro 55W HO Lamp (TMC code 6056) Or, Philips TUV 55W HO lamp And If I'm buying/ordering, I should be looking for a spare quartz sleeve too. https://www.tropicalmarinecentre.com/en/tmc/pond/equipment/uv-filtration/pro-pond-advantage-110-watts-uv-clarifier-uk
  9. I used a yoga mat for my install. My tank is 36"x68", so I found this oversize one on amazon. It's been in use a little over a year. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JMHWYI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. I like your project. I'll give you a whop of Zoa's for free, nothing needed back. I'm not letting any into my display tank, but got 2-3 little abused nubs at the bottom of frag tanks I bought from Brian when his shop shut down. I've been growing these out in my frag tank, just because someone may want them some day.
  11. Awesome find. I may be handy, but there's nothing like a stocked bench and experience doing it multiple times. Any idea what state he's located in? Just curious.
  12. Any update on details? Normal business hours, or something special?
  13. Congratulations! It's a nice looking tank and stand. Normal doorways are not 36" wide, which this setup requires. Does your location have an extra wide access, or have you figured out how to make one?
  14. Agreed. Thanks for the heads up. Got some too.
  15. Update. For this time of year, today's TDS is more my normal. [@SuncrestReef , notice there's no protective film. But removing it left some uglies. ]
  16. I was there yesterday, to order a mystery box. I may, or may not, have walked out with a few other items - which caused me to spend the rest of my afternoon dipping corals.
  17. It can store readings?! and of keep multiple tanks separate! Okay, I'm liking this setup. My storage system is a small flip pad of paper, and a couple of times I've gotten distracted and missed the reading coming off the tester. Had to repeat the same test. Sounds like a good kit.
  18. Same to you and your family! Happy Thank Giving!
  19. My understanding is this kit tests multiple parameters. Does it test them one at a time, or can you run two tests in parallel? I've gotten into a routine measuring Nitrate and Phosphate, and it involves both tests running at the same time. Hanna HI782 Nitrate high range - requires 7 minute wait for test results Hanna HI736 Phosphorus low range - requires 3 minute wait for test results Setup is the same for both kits. Fill vial with water, pour chemical into vial, shake vial for 2minutes. Then put in Colorimeter, wait for its timer to count down. So my system is, get everything prepped at once. Fill vials, cut open chemical packets. Pour into nitrate vial, shake 2 mins, start colorimeter. 7 min Nitrate timer starts. Then pour chem into phos vial, shake 2 mins, start colorimeter. 3 min Phos timer starts. ... And there's usually 4 mins left on the Nitrate timer. So I get both readings out, within a minute of each other. Clean up, put away.
  20. Black Friday Updates, from Lowes this time. Seems they have an equiv fixed platform ladder also for $35 (normally $60), and an adjustable height one for $98 (normally $125). I haven't seen either in person, just noticed them in the ads. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-Aluminum-Work-Platform-225lb-Load-Capacity/1002981294 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-Aluminum-Work-Platform-250-Lb/5000905497
  21. Well done. I like the look. Would make a nice desktop accent piece, in any work from home office.
  22. We're in Tualatin Valley WD as well. That's why I'm surprised. Must be something local on my end of the line. No need to peel off the film, I'll be "sharing the unit" with someone else soon. But I will start the life of the new RO unit with Peeled TDS meters. Thx for the Pro-Tip.
