Load bearing wall or not? If not, just take out the wall and have no aquarium size limits!

Black Friday/Small Business Saturday Sale!

Did you get my PM earlier today for a mystery box? Not sure if I should have replied in this thread. -
When building a rock arch, you should use the design principle of a keystone bridge which has been proven successful for centuries. Let gravity work for you instead of against you.
-
Those rocks wonโt stay white for long.

Have you looked into Reef Pi? https://reef-pi.github.io There's a huge discussion thread on Reef2Reef on this topic.

For the skimmer, use this code: Fallback OFF Set ON If Output RETURN = OFF Then OFF (where RETURN is the name of your return pump outlet) Defer 005:00 Then ON What kind of ATO are you using? Most are based on water level sensors, so when the return pump is off the water level should be high and the ATO won't run anyway. I'd advise against turning the ATO outlet on or off based on return pump state. Let me know if you have other questions. I'm pretty much an Apex fanatic.

If that had been stated in your post, I wouldn't have had the concern. My apologies.

I was basing my comment on the screen shots showing the BRS calculator listing a BRS additive. I just wanted to emphasize to the original poster that it's best to research the exact product being dosed rather than just accepting advice from forum users. Sure, your estimate was close, but what if he was using a product where the difference was significant? I'd hate to see someone crash their tank because they didn't do the due diligence that's warranted.
-
You guys ignored that the OP is not using BRS 2-part. Using the calculator I linked above, it shows 149.6ml of ESV B-Ionic: I'd recommend doing thorough research on the product you're dosing before relying on opinions in forums. You don't want to find out the hard way that you miscalculated dosing volumes.
-
This calculator has a few different ESV products listed: http://reef.diesyst.com/flashcalc/flashcalc.html
-
What product are you dosing with? I use BRS 2-part and their online calculator makes it really easy to figure out how much to add. Not sure if it could be translated to different products. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-calculator

I have 3 FMM modules: 1. 2x leak sensors and 2x optical water level sensors to control ATO 2. 4x flow sensors to measure flow in return pipe and 3 reactors 3. 3x optical water level sensors in my mixing station and RO/DI storage tank I also control my Radions with the WMX module and have the PMK module to measure PAR. I love the flexibility and options available with Apex. You could totally trick out your new system!
-
Will you be using any other Apex modules?

This would have been way less expensive than my current aquarium: https://m.facebook.com/craftymorning/videos/2250424788533936/

Watch as the colors of this colony change from mostly blue to mostly red as it opens up after dipping and first placement in my tank. This took place over about 2 hours.

New Apex set up but getting email alerts ??
SuncrestReef replied to The ReefBox's topic in General Discussion
Was the Alarm checkbox enabled? I'm just trying to determine if that was the cause because it could also be elsewhere. -

SuncrestReef replied to The ReefBox's topic in General Discussion
The easiest way would be: 1. Click the Apex menu at the top 2. Click Inputs 3. Scroll through the list to find your conductivity probe (probably named Salt) and click it. That should take you to the screen I showed above. -

Even if you don't have a salinity probe, the Apex has a built-in port for one. Go to the settings for the Conductivity Probe, then clear the Alarm checkbox if it's checked: You should probably also set the probe to Disabled if it's not already. -
Wow, those are some spendy pieces!

Any particular standouts in the shipment?

I got the 3/4" braided hose from BRS: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/braided-nylon-tubing-sold-by-the-foot.html And 3/4" quick-connect cam fittings from PVCFittingsOnline.com: Male adapter: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/3-4-polypropylene-type-e-coupling-male-adapter-hose-shank-075e.html Female coupler: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/3-4-polypropylene-type-b-coupling-female-coupler-mnpt-75b34.html 1" to 3/4" bushing: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/838-131-1-x-3-4-schedule-80-pvc-reducer-bushing-flush-style.html And yes, I do spend too much time admiring the plumbing! ๐ It was part of last month's picture of the month!

Yes, I ordered all my valves and several fittings from pvcfittingsonline.com and have no complaints. They have a great selection.
