  1. Will you be moving the whole structure into the tank as a single piece, or did you build it as modules that come apart? Looks like it would take several people to carefully lift the whole thing into your tank.
  2. My tank has come a long way in 6 months: May 2018 July 2018 November 2018

    Mohawk

Looks like my hermit crab has grown a mohawk 🤣 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Mine was on the smaller side from what I saw still in the tank at CNC last Saturday.
  5. OK, I’ll start: My ruler is clear, so it’s easier to read if I place it in front of the coral. I'm measuring height from the top of the frag plug. I’m also measuring in cm to make the math easier. Front: Side: These photos were shot on my iPhone with clip-on orange filter, so color isn’t exact. Here’s a shot without the filter: Details: Tank: Reefer XL 425, 112 gallon system volume Lighting: Radion XR30 Pro, AB+ program 8 hours, 400 PAR Alk & Cal: BRS 2-part via DOS, 8.3 dKH, 420ppm Tank age: 6 months Tank stability: 7 for the past few months Other notes: Temp = 78 degrees, Red Sea Coral Pro salt at 1.026, Nitrate = 2ppm, Phosphate = 0.06ppm, pH = 7.9 - 8.13 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Can you tell me the name of this one? I'd like to find it.
  7. For me I love the lens, but have a love/hate relationship with the camera itself. To get better depth of field, I close the aperture way down to f-stop 36, then use a long exposure (1 to 6 seconds depending on lighting). I need to turn off the powerheads to reduce polyp movement during the shots, but it's worth it to get so much of the coral into focus.
  8. I wouldn't say better. Mine may have more close-up detail, but yours have great color and composition. I haven't found the best settings yet on my Nikon to capture the true colors on my corals. Still working at it!
  9. I love macro shots. I took these yesterday:
  10. I love the colors on this one. 👍
  11. This mushroom has developed a distinct circular line bisecting the mouth, and what appears to be a new mouth growing at the top in this photo. Is it getting ready to split? I’ve only had it for about 3 months and don’t know how the splitting process normally works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nice. How long have you had it?
  13. My frag looks a little happier today. I'm starting to see polyp extension:
  14. How about a thermal image of my equipment? Dorky enough? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Just curious, what kind of shop? Woodshop? Machine shop? Other? Years ago I converted my 2 car garage into a dedicated woodshop with a 60 amp sub panel. Then I got too busy with my career and my woodworking hobby went dormant. Someday I might get back into it.
  16. I had just dipped the coral, and when I took the photos there was a bit of mucus on the frag. The photo was a 4 second exposure, so it could just be mucus moving in the current causing a blur in the photo. I'll take a couple more macro photos later tonight after the mucus dissipates. I can even focus the macro a little closer to get more detail.
  17. I'm not sure where you're seeing that. Which photo, and roughly where are you looking?
  18. I picked up my frag today (and met @sroberts doing the same). Good looking frags with several branches. Are we going to try measuring each branch, or just overall height? Jeff showed me the remaining colony so it looks like this coral branches more than growing tall. @pdxmonkeyboy are you going to create an official thread for photos? 19. The next time I aquascape I'm going to try something like this: (these were from a build thread I found on R2R: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/100-gallons-acros-tank.310947/)
