  1. Wow, that’s some heavy growth. I remember back when I started my first reef tank and was super excited to see some coralline growing, now I really dread seeing it grow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. A little update here, so I added 14 or so to my 120 just over a month ago and they are like snipers in the night! For the first 2 weeks I saw nothing and the aiptasia started to multiply quick since I wasn’t routinely hitting with aiptasiaX. I was just patient and all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago, I saw a prominent one disappear and spotted a nudi every now and again with a flashlight. But now, they’ve reach the tipping point and the aiptasia are going fast. Just amazing. I can’t believe how well these have worked and by far the easiest and fun reef pest treatment I’ve done. Even some of the huge ones just vaporized over night. Until now, I had never used a flashlight on my rock at night and amazed at how many pods are scampering around. It’s quite creepy. 3. The reef sluice box! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This is turning out the be a great sale thread.....well at least for the onlookers! Maybe it's the curse of Jaggy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Man, you went from thinking about moving to dropping the anchor. I assume you've already been house shopping pretty aggressively. Good luck and your current house is really unique and on a great lot, so don't imagine it'll take long to sell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the advice. I Can be patient and sit back and watch them die!! Will they migrate into the sump? I just put them into the display but imagine some aiptasia are lurking down there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Arghh, was hoping to be able to come but out of town with work that day! I'm sure it'll be a fun time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I got in on the saltyunderground sale and they arrived yesterday. I was really impressed with the packaging and health of these little guys. They were very active in the shipping container and latched to the inside of the pipette immediately and were hard to even puff out onto the rock. I bought enough to get the free shipping, so 14 of them for 77 bucks, not bad! Upon being released into the tank, they latched right onto the rock and disappeared. We'll see what happens, hope the wrasse doesn't pick them off. I had a low level aiptasia problem, but have noticed a definite uptick over the last year or so between hitting them with aiptasiax at water changes. Can't wait to see them take off! 9. Cool, sent you a pm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm interested depending on where you're located. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I use fritz blue box and just tested the batch I mixed over the weekend at 8.0 dKH. That's usually what I see. I bought from seahorse a couple of weeks ago. Maybe you got low batch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'll flag this thread to come back to when I need some programming. But I'm sure I could pimp out my programming a bit more on existing items! For my swabbie, I just copied your homework and never looked back! Keep it coming! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What is your dosing schedule looking like now? How often and how much at each interval for Ca and Alk? I test at the same time every few days and feel like it's rock solid, but really have no clue as to what the daily variation is. You're making me think it's not that stable after all! But I dose alk every hour for about 15 hours during the lights off period. Surely that does something?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Laugh all you want but it'll always be 4 years old to me since that's when I forked out 500 for it and I'll be using this old technology until the wheels fall off! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Any idea why they didn't support Apex Classic with these? Is it just a sales stunt or does the classic not have some functionality that's needed? I mean, come on, my Apex is only 4 years old! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Don't use all the reagent up tonight! It's pretty compact, I thought it would be larger. So how does it clean itself after each test, does it flush with some tank water to the waste vessel? Does it have a test vial like a Hanna? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That was a much needed improvement! I mistakenly plugged in a third doser to automate another liquid supplement into a standard eb8 outlet and despite Apex only set to run it 3 minutes, the doser kept running and dumped 450 ml of KZ Pohls xtra into my tank! It didn't harm anything but it was about $50 worth of supplement! I just added a splitter to the outlet and plugged in a spare air pump that gets the wattage up enough to trigger the relay in the outlet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well sounds like if I run out of Apex outlets I can always just go this route. Those energy bars are expensive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was going to add a piece of soft silicon tubing to my skimmer cup drain port with a cap or valve on the end. That way I can drain it by just putting the end of the silicone tube in a bucket, open the valve, drain it, then close the valve. May get clogged over time, but no big deal. I'm still considering just having an open drain with an airlock but worried about skimmer going crazy and overflowing the bucket. We'll see. That's where the skimmate locker is king. 20. Cool, thanks. I'll just copy and paste that in and adjust as needed. Does it have to be plugged into one of the low wattage eb8 outlets? Mine only has 2 of these and my dosing pumps are plugged into them. If they are plugged into the standard outlets they'll keep running after the time period ends since the watt draw is so low. I can bypass this issue by adding another load to the outlet if need be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I will. I've got one outlet left on the eb8 for it! Sure, pass along any programming. Haven't even thought the far. Thanks.
  22. I'm soooo excited! I'm so tired of cleaning that stinky skimmer. Didn't get the locker yet, that will be next. I'll try the@pdxmonkeyboy homebrew air lock milk jug for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I've had great experiences with their customer support over the years. My newest 26 was cutting off due to overheating, but the cooling fan was stuck and once I flicked the fan blade it started running fine and has worked fine for 6 months. Regardless, been very happy with their products and support. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
