  1. Well I gave it a shot. I cleaned it and it calibrated fine but drifted out of calibration in a hour or so by over a point. Guess I'll toss it. BRS has some replacements for reasonable prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. You can buy a crimper tool and plug ends at Lowes for probably $15 and make cables all day long. That's how I did mine. Tricky part is finding a diagram and getting the wire sequence right. Not too bad though and you can run the wire like you're running romex and just crimp at the end. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I monitor it in case my alk doser gets stuck for some reason and have Apex cut it off if pH spikes. Is that all that 90s? When it's been rock solid over 8 for months and then tanks to 7, it causes concern. I checked tank again with an old pH test kit and it was normal for my tank despite what probe now says. Bad probe is definitely the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. About 4 years, guess it was overdue. I should probably just replace my temp probe at the same time. It could cause major issues if it went hay wire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Good call, I luckily had some hanging around and just tried and it's 1.1 under on both the 7 and 10 solution. So looks like tank is fine just probe going bad. Guess I'm in the market for a new one! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Oh, and I run 2 part so no worries with CO2 from CA reactor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My pH always hovers between 8.1 and 8.3 or so but it tanked last night to 7.3. Everything looks fine and nothing died. Any ideas? pH probe issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I bought one at wet spot in Hollywood area a while back. Seemed like they keep them in stock. I think $90 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Is the battery backup an ecotech? If so, I'm interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I bought the parts for my current setup from an online pvc shop. Definitely less expensive than BRS. I guess I'll order there again! I'm not in a hurry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Looking pretty sweet! Where did you source the gate valves on the overflow? I need one here pretty soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I set up a pretty low maintenance, surplus gear QT tank a while back and the only thing I don't like about it is the Alk roller coaster that can happen depending on how much you have in there at any given time. You just have to test and hand dose to keep things in check. But well worth it in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Running a small fan on the surface of your 20 gal tank will be more than enough to keep it cool. Evaporative cooking works wonders. Very simple too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh no worries. I got what I wanted here. Maybe you can grab a double sized piece if you do and sale me some! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If you were worried about stump remover you can buy bulk potassium nitrate powder for dirt cheap at green leaf aquatics. I think I got 2lbs for $6. Id be more than happy to share some with you. I haven't used it yet as I got my sps to color up by overfeeding, adding fish, and feeding reef chili/roids everyday. And I still have zero nitrates! You'd have to play around with the dose but Rudy mentioned a rough ratio to me that I've forgotten but there are loads of scenarios online. I'll probably try it at some point but didn't want to move too many levers at one time! Let me know if you want some, I'll be at the meeting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Well I've had a hankering for that monti for a while. I'll let you know when I can stop by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Oh man, I was tempted by the red planet but Sean swooped in with what I was after. Thanks though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Bingo! I guess it was under my nose the whole time. Sure I'll take you up on that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Looking for a frag. I've got a nice silver dollar sized frag of monti undata up for trade. I'll be at the meeting on Sun. Just let me know! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Return pump

I've got the RO varios pump and love it. Has 5 speeds, dead quiet, and been running flawlessly for 2 years. It's really easy to take apart and clean. Has a built in float switch to kill the pump if sump levels get low. Has Apex functionality but I just plugged it into an outlet on my Apex and haven't tried to connect it. 22. Same thing happened to me, thought I ordered the wrong stuff but apparently interchangeable. It's been working just fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
