  1. If I start collecting them in socks I’ll let you know. Only issue is I think you need to add several at a time so they can start reproducing and I would usually only find one in the socks every few days. When I saw the sale right before bed I quickly ordered enough to qualify for free shipping and as soon as I hit purchase, realized I should have checked about splitting a 25 pack.
  2. I’ve used them in the past with good success. I didn’t see much change for several weeks but they eventually got them all and made their way into the filter socks so released those to the sump. At this price it’s a no brainer to try. I just got my order in and they were all almost 1/2” and I ordered the 1/4” ones. But after aips are gone they die. I was aip free for quite a while but they managed to reappear.....so back at it again!
  3. Salty underground has a sale on berghia right now that makes them very affordable. https://saltyunderground.com/8-berghia-nudibranch
  4. You mean chuck a hair dryer in there and call it good? 😁 A GFCI detects when current is flowing beyond the circuit and is much more sensitive than the flow needed to trip a standard breaker. That is why they are recommended around water since any amount of current flowing to water can be dangerous. Once the current escapes the circuit, no way of getting it back in. A grounding probe on the tank would dissipate it, but would still trip the GFCI since it “sees” the lost current and not a fix in this case. Maybe the cord has a small crack allowing water to leak or a seal is letting water seep in? Any small amount of water gives the current a path to flow out of the circuit into the tank and trip the GFCI. Hopefully the warranty will come through, not an inexpensive pump! Can you run it as an external pump? Maybe that would help if water is leaking at the cord or housing? And for the record, I am not an electrician....just a weekend electrical warrior! I do happen to work for an electric utility.....
  5. If the GFCI breaker or outlet is not the issue then your pump is leaking current to ground, in this case the tank water. Water, or moisture, must have worked it’s way into the motor causing current to flow to ground. In this case, it doesn’t matter what speed it’s running at.
  6. I got rid of it a while back using kalk paste. I manually removed as much as I could (mine was the branching type) then covered the remaining tissue with the paste. There were a few isolated, but large patches. After several weeks, I broke up the kalk shell that had formed and sucked it up while doing a water change. The GSP never came back. I’d see a small one pop up here and there afterwards but those areas are easy to hit as needed. Eventually it was all gone. I used to like it until it started to take over 😆
  7. I think those clamps only fit the braided type vinyl tubing with a larger OD. I just use nylon zip ties if below water line or near salt spray.
  8. Putting together a remote refugium and have some extra space for more rock. Looking in the Portland area. PM me if you have anything. Thanks!
  9. I’m using a similar setup as you and had troubles with the Versa wearing out tubes in a month or two. I was pulling and Ecotech recommended pushing as this would prolong the life of the tubes. I adjusted as they suggested but it’s not been long enough to see if there is a difference.
  10. Glad to know I’m not the only wood stash hoarder on the forum. At least you know its dry. Looks awesome!
  11. That’s awesome!!! I definitely have some to nuke!
  12. ‘‘Tis the season to watch that classic....”it’s not going in our backyard, Russ, it’s going in our living room”. My family has had countless laughs about that movie over the years!
  13. Oh yea, Murphy! Nice redundancy with dual return pumps.......easy to do that with the price of Jebaos and likely safer than any single high end return pump. Maybe when I’m leaving the house post covid I can install a second pump.
  14. Those Jebaos are hard to beat. I put one on my closed loop and has not skipped a beat in a couple of years. Just makes me nervous having one as a return pump 😆 but this is not based on a bad experience. Just because you pay more means it’ll be more dependable right 😂
  15. I picked up some other stuff from Brian over the weekend and he hooked me up with some nice frags. Killer deal here!
  16. I’ll second the reef octopus varios pumps. I have the 6 and has worked flawlessly and run solid for 3 years. You can’t even hear it running and very easy to disassemble for cleaning. It has never once gotten hung up when it’s turned off like many other pumps I have. It’s reasonably priced and usually on some Black Friday sales. I was tempted to pick up a spare. Going DC is great since you can vary the flow rate to suit your tank and I like to crank mine up when blasting sediment off rocks to turn the water over quicker through my socks.
  17. I love how you’ve opened it up in what looks like your office or living room!
  18. Going, going, gone! Please close.
  19. Who uses bionic here? Make me an offer so I can get this out of my basement. A 4 gallon pack of each is around $90 retail. There is still 3.5 gallons of each left.
  20. Thanks for the tip. I have been adding some because they are packaged without anything and don’t include any lube. But I’m sure I could be adding more. Just like glue.....can’t have too much!!
  21. Yea, I really don’t want WiFi either, but seems like the original one is not available any more or out of stock. The Versa seemed awesome at first, but maybe switching the feed direction will solve the issues. Good to hear you are liking your kamoer.
