That angle you’re seeing is probably because the wall side of the tank stand is sitting on the tack strip for the rug. If you pull the tank off the wall 2-3” the slope will probably go away.

I’ve used regular PVC solvent, no problems like Manny said. Oatey makes a transition solvent specifically for ABS to PVC if you’re worried about it. Not a pressure line, so it’s not critical that you have a crazy strong bond.

I wouldn’t leave it in romex, especially if you are going to drywall over it. Last thing you want is a mouse/rat nest in the wall and one of those little bastards starts chewing on it.
