I was thinking of having the conductivity/salinity probe tell the Apex to turn on the screw conveyor to put salt in your mix tank for you. That would be legit, making saltwater and water change all automatic.

Now you just need something to mix the salt and water and you’re in business. I’m pretty sure you could do it with a screw conveyor hooked up to your Apex.

My guess would be it was an upgrade to the airlift undergravel filters everyone used to run. Power because it has a motor and head because it goes on top of the airlift tube.

My friend had one on a 150g discus tank, he was super-stoked on it in the beginning, but grew tired of replacing the expensive roller material. How much roller material are you guys going through each month?

I like running chaeto, easier for me to keep things stable. I had a few screwups that were GFO related and swore I’d never use it again.

I just gotta say, “are you sure you want to use GFO”? I have been there and done that, GFO does work, but I think there are better ways to keep phosphates in check.
