Which fish have the best personalities?
TaylorW replied to xxkenny90xx's topic in General Discussion
You should consider a Goby and Pistol Shrimp pair!! I had a pair for a couple years and they were by far my favorite [emoji173] I had a Yellow Watchman Goby and his Tiger Pistol Shrimp friend, they spent most of their time hanging out in their caves they made, some very intricate! The Pistol Shrimp would dig the holes and the Watchman Goby would guard and keep all the other fish away (not aggressively, mostly just funny) the Goby was a character. He reminded me of a grouchy old man "Get off my lawn!!" The Pistol Shrimp would literally pick up and relocate any snails or hermit crabs that got too close and the Goby would pick them up in his mouth and gently "spit" them out away from their lair lol. The Goby was just adorable and the Shrimp was stunning visually and actually pretty large. Your rockwork needs to be sturdy though since they prefer to dig around the rocks and you can't mind the small mounds of sand lol, and if you like to put frags in the sand the Pistol Shrimp will gladly move them where he thinks they should go or they might get buried [emoji12]... Other than that I loved those guys!! It was a tough decision to re-home them but I found a couple that fell in love with them and still have them to this day. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -

[emoji23] I forgot about that movie! I feel much more secure now about my new acrylic tank since there's no seams to burst. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -

Just replied to your pm! If you go with @badxgillen I wouldn't blame you, he's closer to you but like I said if you just want to pay the shipping let me know. A few months back a very generous member here (jeremyevans) gave me some Coral for my daughter's tank and the gsp in particular has really taken off so I'd be happy to pass along that generosity if I can. Also have a ton of green/purple palythoas I got from Holly (gil&fin) that I could bust off a good chunk of rock of and a lot of very healthy bushy Kenya tree coral as well. I'd also be happy to try sending a baggy with some Anthelia as well, I've read it tends not to ship well (I've never shipped it myself) but I've also read a few tricks people have used that can help so I could give it a try if you'd like, worst case is it arrives doa then just toss it...

Can I be put in the list for the handheld one please? I'll pay the deposit Friday the 10th so anytime after that I'll pick it up when it becomes available!! I have some Acans to pick up from[mention=13755]lewisriverfisherman[/mention] anyway once they've healed up a bit longer so that could potentially work out perfectly! Thanks [emoji4] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

If you were closer to Gaston or want to pay shipping I have a couple easy corals, I have a ton of green and purple palythoas, chunk of green star polyps I could cut off, lots of Kenya tree coral. Also have a lot of Anthelia but heard it doesn't ship well. I don't know if it's worth it but if you want to just pay the shipping I could send you some of each (except Anthelia) Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

I've had Toadstools that small holes would appear where debris would settle... If not enough flow over them and debris settles and isn't blown off it can happen but other than that I don't know Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

Yikes I would replace the pump if it overheats but that's me, I had a heater malfunction a while back and anything that overheats is OUT. On the other hand I don't even use heaters now and rely on all my pumps (return, two skimmer pumps and a reactor pump) for steady heat (tank stays at ~78) so you betcha if one overheats it's gone... I don't know what kind of pump those skimmers use but that's a scary wait and see thing for me in case it acts up again and continues over heating while you're at work or something, especially if you don't have something set up to alert you it's happening (which fortunately you do!) Maybe someone else can offer better advise since I've personally never actually owned one [emoji39] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

He's located by Washington square, I believe it took a couple days for him to get back to me... I don't know if he's on here much anymore, maybe try messaging him? Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

Aww I wish this existed a while back on my old tank before I upgraded, I'd have paid you to borrow them!! Algae scrubber took care of it for me and my tanks have never been more spotless of algae since... I've heard of people loaning or renting these guys out tank to tank so they don't starve. Never had one though because I was worried they would run out of food, maybe you can find someone that has an issue with it in their tank. Hope you find someone soon... Looking for a tank in the 36-40 gallon range
TaylorW replied to EMeyer's topic in Want to Buy / Trade
37 gallons do exist lol! My first reef tank was a 37, 30" long pretty deep tank if I remember correctly, all I remember was it was a 37 gallon 30" long [emoji3] I think I recently saw a 37 on Craigslist Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk -
I have a list lol! I'm doing an Anenome Tank with Bubble tips (all kinds) Rock Flowers and Maxi Minis, Welso Brain corals on sand bed. I did something similar a few years ago and loved it, then my tank crashed due to a heater malfunction [emoji22] so I want to do my new tank the same but with harder to find corals (of course) still have several on my list, I'll probably be looking for them for a while since they're hard to come by! Even having a tough time finding them online. I'm mainly looking for a larger red Welso (heck I'll buy any size!) A metallic green and all colors Rock Flowers and Maxi Minis but I have specifics listed...so you're not alone! There's only so much room in tanks and I know I find myself staring at my tanks fantasizing about what would look good and where to put it... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

I don't know exactly what yours is doing but I've seen mine do strange looking things only to find out that's what they do when they expel waste, lights go out etc. If your parameters are good and your other corals seem good I'd just keep an eye on it. Some of my mushrooms I've known were budding when I'd see an extra mouth form, others I'd just notice a tiny mini shroom form next to the original. My little red rock Flower Anenome (I now know is a male) I've seen do lots of crazy worrisome things [emoji10] I've had this thing ~10 years and couple years ago found out it was a male when it starting releasing sperm clouds lol. I've seen it look like it's turning inside out, stretch, you name it... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
