  1. I'd definitely consider them too, the turbos do tend to knock over everything in it's path Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  2. Yes I know lol, I had two Giants a few years ago and they bulldozed my frags constantly. I think they'll be fine in my anenome tank though, not much for frags to bulldoze. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  3. So I've been considering turning my "Anenome" tank into a Clown Harem Tank, I've done quite a bit of research or at least researched what I can find, but I'm curious if anyone here has had success longer term with a Harem tank. From what I can find many consider them to be one of the "easier" tanks since it's mainly bta's, correct lighting, water change schedule and a regular feeding schedule for the Clowns? I've always had excellent luck with bta's so not worried there. The tank I'm considering is my 50 gallon acrylic, it will be stocked with mostly Bubble tips all colors. I'm having trouble deciding how many Clowns though for that size tank. I'm leaning towards the lower recommended numbers of 7-15 but not sure what would be a good number for a 50? I have a 20 long sump with Hydor Performer 705 Recirculating Skimmer (huge Skimmer meant for up to 300 gallons, am trying to trade for something smaller) just recently started a DIY algae scrubber and am currently using filter socks for filtration. Any tips and or criticism welcomed! Oh and am wondering about having other species of fish with them, I know they can get aggressive at breeding age but I have seen videos and pictures of Harem tanks with other fish like a Cardinal, Mandarin and a Scooter Blenny mixed in some.... It's probably not the best idea especially once they reach breeding age but still curious! I appreciate any tips at all 😊
  4. The Kole tang is doing great! It's become my favorite, I love watching that silly fish. It's a tad shy still but it recognizes me now, if it sees my husband from across the room it bolts behind the rocks [emoji38] I've been trying to get my husband to start feeding them more but not much interest [emoji57] It turns out my Skimmer does not like Ocean's Halo Nori because I've tried two kinds after with no problems with the Skimmer. I bought some of the WinCo kind I used to buy and ordered the One Organic brand from Amazon and have been using both. I don't really know why it foamed like that from the Ocean's Halo Nori, I've compared the ingredients and nutrition facts but there's really not much difference at all so I'm at a loss. There's obviously something different, I did notice the Ocean's Halo Nori seemed to break up much easier and quicker, for example when I put it on a clip tiny pieces would tend to break off and end up in the overflow pretty quickly and make the Skimmer freak out. I noticed with the other types they seem to stay in one piece much easier and not break away into small pieces and end up in the overflow. It could very well be just that... 5. Oh I'll absolutely take it!! Would you like an Astrea snail or two in return? I have several of them they are amazing, they do wonders keeping my rocks clean of algae. If I see a small patch of hair algae on a rock I literally pick one of the Astreas up and set it on that rock, by morning it's clean. I have a pretty crazy week at work until probably Friday though, would you mind if I came by either Friday or Saturday? Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  6. Was actually just considering ordering a bigger clean up crew, thanks I'll check it out. Ordered from there before and will definitely do it again. Their prices are amazing Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  7. Nice! What did you think of his tank? I love the dimensions, my husband says if I get a tank as large as that it will have to be my only tank, some day...... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

    New sexy clam

Ooooh beautiful!! I've had a clam obsession for years but am too scared to pull the trigger on one, so I love to see other's tanks that have them. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  9. Everything sounds great except use new sand and even water, little beneficial bacteria in tank water and when I used same sand had a nasty algae outbreak for a long time. Turns out old sand hangs on to phosphates! I've had several tanks now over a few years and now just buy new
  10. Can't believe I'm posting this lol but looking for one or two very large Turbo Snails, had a couple Giants a few years back I would complain about knocking my frags over but I'd really like to have one or two for my anenome tank. Also looking for some sand sifters/stirrers especially a conch. I'll be heading back to C&C at some point to see what they have (when I have time and $$, seems like I come out of there with a lot less and my husband is never thrilled lol) but if anyone a bit closer has any they want to sell/trade let me know! Thanks [emoji4] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

  12. Good catch! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  13. That would be an awesome job! I would volunteer actually, what cool fish! So those huge ones are Unicorn Tangs?? I've never seen them before, those big boys stand out.
  14. I think it's trying to disguise itself as a frag so you won't notice what it really is lol. It's so perfectly placed [emoji23] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  15. I'd just make the hour drive! I live out by hagg lake so to go pretty much anywhere is about an hour drive anyway... But seriously WhatTheFrag's got some nice corals it's worth the drive, beautiful tank(s) Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  16. It looks great! Love those Damsels, I've had a couple for quite some time now. Very pretty Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  17. Right? One of the first things I noticed when I first saw it, had to have been a few months back when I picked up a BTA from him and couldn't believe how much he had for such a young tank Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  18. I got some Rainbow Incinerators from him only about a month ago, originally a 3 polyp frag now has ten Polyps!! They're absolutely beautiful. Has an amazing tank too Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  19. Ooooh good one! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  20. kjlife has an XP Aqua ATO for sale, he's selling off his 65 gallon and equipment. Look under classified section i bet you could get a great deal, got a gyre and some other good stuff left Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  21. The watts per gallon rule, The zero nitrates zero phosphates rule (sterile tank), One one inch Fish per gallon (maybe geared more towards freshwater), One pound live rock per gallon Not possible to keep mixed reefs longer term, I heard this one often first starting out with saltwater a few years back it seems pretty silly now. May be tougher but not impossible Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  22. [emoji38] love this one! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  23. Hobo spiders I think? When we lived in Forest Grove they were in our wood pile and started migrating into the garage and then house. Had to spend a small fortune to have an exterminator wipe them out, kids were babies then so I didn't like the thought of those huge spiders everywhere. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  24. Aww poor Pistol Shrimp! He will be super busy for quite some time. Tank looks great, awesome win! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
