From the website: "Reef Tank Pro is a great way track your aquarium on an iOS device. A unique concept allows you to select a tank and work exclusively with a specific task. Other aquarium management apps require you to run multiple tests at the same time where Reef Tank Pro gives you the ability to quickly access a specific tank and perform a specific test. Many common measurements and activities are built into Reef Tank Pro. If a specific activity or measurement does not exist, you can create personalized ones as well as customizable quantities and measurement units. In this way Reef Tank Pro can be used to suit your individual needs. Reef Tank Pro includes the following built-in tests: Ammonia, Calcium, Carbonate Hardness, Magnesium, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate, Specific Gravity (Salinity), Temperature, Total Dissolved Solids and pH Reef Tank Pro allows you to associate a photo with your tank. The app provides the ability to take pictures of your test kits and test results for a more personalized view of your tank(s). Take actual photos of your test results and visually compare them. The Log provides a chronological view of the data you have entered in a scrollable list. Each tank that you add can be viewed independently. In addition to tracking a reef tank, you can track the water parameters of tap water, RODI top off water, saltwater changes, refugiums and freshwater tanks. Stats provides the ability to graph multiple tank entries both independently and for comparison. The graphs support pinch to zoom. Planned improvements of Stats are in the works and will later include a legend and better decimal point calibration."

I use an excellent app for Iphone called Reef Tank Pro for this job. If you are an Android user, I am sure there is something equivalent. http://www.reeftankpro.com/

Those are sweet, Rudy. I love that red acro!
-
Does this mean you are coming, Roy? If so, make sure to drag Gumby along with you. We haven't seen him in ages!

What time does it start?

It was great meeting you, Rudy. I will be back! Cheers, Andy

Cuttlefish and Coral Acropora Grow Out
Lexinverts replied to badxgillen's topic in Grow Outs, Group Buys, and Competitions
Bert runs a tight ship with his growouts. I'm sure that there will be a new official thread soon with rules, just like there was for the recent zoa growout. -
I feel your pain!

TODAY! Last Chance to Board the Party Bus!
Lexinverts replied to Gil&Fin's topic in Meetings and Events
It was a blast, and I ended up with a lot of nice stuff. Thanks a bunch to the sponsors for the great deals, and to the board for putting this together! -
Cuttlefish and Coral Acropora Grow Out
Lexinverts replied to badxgillen's topic in Grow Outs, Group Buys, and Competitions
I'm looking forward to getting mine! -
Some killer "frags" in that frag tank.
-
Tank looks fantastic, Chris.
-
I'm guessing that Badx will be bringing corals to trade.
-
Nice! Is that a hydro tray system they are in?
-
Make sure you have some stock left for the party bus next weekend!
-
What are your nitrates and phosphates? If your nutrients are too LOW, lps can show tissue recession.
-
I doubt it is a disease that would spread to other corals. What are your water parameters? Are any other corals showing ill effects?
-
Dangit! Why are they BRS recommended, then? I'm hoping that they fixed the issue. Edit: I see they have good reviews at Marine Depot, though. I'm guessing (hoping) they fixed it.

Cuttlefish and Coral Acropora Grow Out

Awesome! I'm looking forward to this, Robert! -
Cool. The Apex should allow you to collect a lot of data on your tank. Like I said, continuous pH monitoring in your classroom has excellent educational potential. With the Apex, you can monitor ORP as well.
-
I guess you're just going to have to come with us, Jorge.

It's looking good, Aubrey. One thing that I am having fun with in my school tank is my seneye monitor. There are daily pH swings that are interesting to interpret. As an example, the pH goes down when corals are respiring at night but not photosynthesizing. During the day, the pH goes up because the corals are using up the CO2 in the water column. And on weekends, when I am not in my office, the pH goes much higher......because I am not sitting in my office puffing out CO2. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4416+28969&pcatid=28969 I doing a lab with my OSU students on ocean acidification, and a question they will get extra credit for is what is responsible for the high pH in my office reef tank on weekends. You can also watch the ammonia level rise in the tank after you feed the fish.

How do all of those wrasses of yours get along?
-
I've given up on those and go with these bad boys now: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=25673&cmpid=07cseYY&ref=XXXX&subref=AA%26catargetid=530005150000154213%26cadevice=c%3Fref=6111%26cmpid=07csegb&gclid=Cj0KEQiAyIayBRDo4vjdqJrgxZ0BEiQAhOYCYOZ4n353nUeBrXRtQIO4xuQEIe9R5I_e7mwGf7qooLwaAj5k8P8HAQ You'd probably need two of the 200W ones for your system. Finnex titanium ones keep failing on me.
