  1. My problem with the Hannah alk reagent is that after I have had one open for a month or so, it start getting little chunks of things floating in the liquid. When these end up in the tube, they cause my readings to be off. I think I am going to start pouring the reagent through a small plastic mesh to take out the chunky pieces that seem to throw off the reading before I use it.
  2. Hi Roy: Your PM box is full. I'm planned in on making the drive to your place this Saturday for the get together. Have you posted an address somewhere? Also, can I bring anything? Beer? Snacks? Cheers, Andy
  3. It was my understanding that the Gen 2 Wavelines were different from Jebaos. When Waveline upgraded to Gen 2, their Gen 1 technology then appeared in the Jebao pumps. So, the older Wavelines were the same as the Jebaos. Whether this is currently the case or not, the Gen 2 Wavelines are sweet pumps.
  4. The Waveline DC pumps are the bomb! Way cheaper than the Vortechs. This is the one I have: http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/waveline-dc-pumps-gen2
  5. How is the fight with the AEFW going, Troy?
  6. Even that stuff will not kill their eggs. I would just use something less harsh and dip them every 3 days.
  7. Mine has mostly covered the plug, has great PE, and has good color. Hopefully it will start growing taller, now that it has covered the plug.
  8. You mean this stuff? Seriously, though, you can get it here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Potassium-Permanganate-Koi-Fish-Parasite-Treatment-/171379895368?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
  9. I'd like one, and I'll be at Roy's next week.
  10. Mine is spreading out on the plug too, but hasn't grown much taller. It still has great PE and the coloration is fantastic. I'll post my picture in a day or two.
  11. I wonder how long it takes something that size to grow into a 1 inch "frag"?
  12. I just got this one for my frag tank: http://www.innovative-marine.com/auqa-gadget/reefrack-50.html
  13. 2 story drop? I'd like to see a picture of that system!
  14. A potential downside is that a seriously oversized skimmer could too much of the nutrients out of the water. You'll need a little bit of nitrate and phosphate in order to have success growing corals. It also might pull quite a bit of water out of the tank just from skimming, and you'll have to stay on top of your salinity if you are using auto topoff.
  15. What on earth are you talking about? Bashing threads? I guess if I am passive aggressive that makes you aggressive aggressive.
  16. I'm not sure where you got the idea that the club did not support this guy. We just asked him a few question regarding how it worked. Your post reads like you didn't really read this thread, since most of the comments were positive. Now, today, some of us have criticized this fellow for deleting the entire thread after one person posted a negative comment.
  17. A wise man once said that if you throw a fit and delete your thread in response to a single post from a single person, it makes it look like there could be some truth to it. As others have noted, if you have a quality product that works like you say, you should stand up for it, get an experienced reefer to test it and then report the results to the community.
  18. I read this on Steve's LED website too. He was stating that the PAR meter would get saturated and underestimate PAR from his Royal Blue LEDs. He also recommends the 30% correction for PAR readings from an LED fixture. This is good thing to remember when trying to match PAR between a T5 fixture and an LED fixture.
  19. This is the Lani LED: http://reefbuilders.com/2014/05/30/unibody-lani-led-triton-reef/ And the result: If the new Phillips lights work anything like these do, and are somewhat affordable, I will probably try them out.
  20. As I understand it, the point of having more diodes is to improve the spread and reduce the disco ball effect. A great example is the Lani LED by Triton.
  21. I haven't tried the D120s, but I have seen them over other people's tanks. How similar are they to the Ocean Revive T247s? I love the color I get from my ORs.
