  1. I'm kinda mixed on it. When I first started using it, it was amazing! Colors deepened and popped really nice. Then it seemed to not have as much impact after a while. I don't dose a ton, not sure my exact dose but my doser runs for 13 sec 3x a day lol. I think my target when I set it up was to be approx 5ml a day. Directions say 5ml per 25 gals once a week. Doing a bit under that. I have read some good things about AV Fuel so I'm giving it a shot. I had good results with it the one time I tried it several years ago.
  2. I run a Ca Rx for my balanced adds. I also add the following: AcroPower Magnesion Vodka Lugols AV Fuel just started Ferrion on occasion Vitamin C in the form of Sodium Ascorbate (much cheaper than BW)
  3. Cool idea though! Could put your high light corals up top and low light LPS in the lower portion. I too would worry about the tipping off...if it were mine I'd silicone it to the stand
  4. I still think we need to downgrade back to 4.2.2 or 3. I use several forums with the older versions that have no security issues and everything works fine. It is possible to downgrade. Plus with all the backups that happen, the threat of a hack is going to have pretty minor reprocussions. Wish this site was looking up but it's been so so so SLOW lately (post wise). Hope we can get this figured out soon.
  5. Why can't we go back to 4.2.2...?
  6. I'm suprised too, when I got a share the love piece of this from Jose, it grew like crazy! I was thinking about doing a share the love with it since it got so big lol! Someone should snatch this up!
  7. As many have said, pH is irrelevant and shouldn't be chased. I don't really see any use for a ph probe unless it's controlling a Ca reactor. Your SPS are all pissed because you reacted so harshly. Corals adapt to slow change much better than quickly dosing things. You likely spiked your Alk dumping in kalk and did most of the damage there. For cyano, use some chemi clean. The lights out method never works, especially if you have it bad. Just make sure your skimmer is off or wide open and put an airstone in the tank and it works great.
  8. I'm waiting to see how people like them. So far everyone even with longer tanks seems to only be able to run them at like 40% max without obliterating the sandbed and corals.
  9. No, you can tell the sex by the jawline I think. It's online somewhere. Jason at OIAB gets them in all the time and could probably help you get a female.
  10. Sitting at 11 heads, lots of babys sprouting up on the under side! TOP FRONT
  11. Lol Ya but this thread is about growing weed in a fuge...mostly pointless topic haha
  12. I'm Little bit right wing are we??? Since the president has been in office: Sixty-three straight months of economic expansion. A depression averted. A deficit reduced by two thirds. A health care law that’s working and lowering costs. Two women on the Supreme Court. Bin Laden’s dead. The stock market at record heights. An unemployment rate that dropped from 10.2 to 5.9. If you’re a Fox News viewer trying to do the math, that’s less. Gas prices are down. I'm not against Pot, I think it's great oregon is on board now, just don't like people blaming the president for everything when he's actually fixing more than most others have.
  13. I got this one on a recommendation from OIAB, couldn't be happier! http://www.freshwatersystems.com/p-9847-hm-digital-trm-1-triple-inline-tds-monitor.aspx?utm_source=Googlebase&utm_medium=Feed&utm_campaign=Product&utm_term=TRM-1-38&gclid=CK_mnIqY5MECFRZqfgodBIcAQg So you have 3 points of measurement to measure incoming, after membrane, and outgoing. This way you know if your membrane is bad or your DI resin is.
  14. I'm It depends on the powerhead it had on it. Maybe just a 400, not sure though. For the fuge, I'd set up something to corral the chaeto and prevent it from being sucked into return pump. Maybe some gutter guard or a Tupperware. I would use at least a cfl bulb in a lamp, more light the better to get the macro growing. More growth = more removal. Crabs shouldn't be an issue
  15. That's a pretty small little skimmer, I bet a maxijet could run it pretty easily. Sadly I think most of mine are toast, given away, or used. I would consider ditching the skimmer for a fuge for now though. Flow can be slow, most just have the flow of the sump and no extra powerheads in a fuge.
  16. What's the system size, skimmer model, and powerhead that went out? Maybe we can all dig for some extra equipment and find a solution. As far as helping with nutrient export, cheapest way is to get a chaeto fuge going in your sump. All you need is light and your good, most basic cfl bulbs work. Regaining flow to the dead spot and a fuge should help a lot
  17. Bump for the weekend PM me back Wanareef
  18. Chris...that's an epic tip lol, wish I thought of that sooner
  19. I know my WPs are a pain to get apart but they twist lock apart. If your worried, vinegar soak is easy and no risk of breaking.
  20. I do like seeing testing like this being offered, drives companies to provide better/more home testing kits and devices. Really hoping the Mindstream comes out, I'd love to be able to continuously monitor parameters like this instead of waiting, adjusting, hoping it's right, then checking after a month or so.
