  1. Cool test, kinda worries me about the RS mag test, which I find very close to Salifert also...who's right? Overall I'd say they are, just strange to see that much deviation between what we all consider "accurate" home test kits. Guess I won't be dialing my mag dosing back anytime soon Did you have a Milwakie salinity tester? Just bought Matty's...pretty epic piece of test equipment compared to using a refractometer.
  2. Updated pending items Here's what the 40b sock holder looks like when installed (silicone):
  3. Blue Z Reef

  6. Matty - I'll take the reef foundation and salinity meter, can I paypal Ya? PM me address please. Thanks!
  7. Yeah I did...problem number one: Q: Why wasn't the community or members involved in this decision? A: Unfortunately, it wasn't really a choice. Due to increased security awareness, the more time we stay on the old versions of this software, the more likely we are to have another attack/crash/time-travel to 2012. The design decisions were made by myself and my web developer with suggestions and approvals from the BOD and Officers of PNWMAS. In fact, there was a vote to deploy this on Saturday. Everything went through the proper channels and was done so with the communities best interests in mind. So again, the leadership being dictators and just changing stuff. That sounds club like!?! Honestly, I am a member on several other forums and have been for many years and guess what? They have never done this!!! They look the same! No one complains about it, some updates roll out but the overall experience stays (and looks) the same. I hate it. Think I'll be going elsewhere for my reefing fix, which is sad because everyone I've met on here is great.
  8. I hate it....honestly. Why did it have to change so much?!? Was there something wrong with the old one??? I can't find anything. Main nice thing on the old one was the main page that showed all the new posts, now I have to dig around for that? This sucks
  9. Holy cow...any Vancouverites have TDS this high? Maybe my inline TDS needs calibration but it's brand new, think its pre calibrated...
  10. Straight from the tap. Let's include a few details: TDS: Water Source: Location/Zip: For me it's the following (I was a little suprised!): TDS: 125 Water Source: City of Vancouver Location/Zip: Vancouver (Orchards Area), 98682 Thanks to Jason at OIAB for ordering me a triple TDS meter for my RO unit, makes life very easy!
  11. I have the same problem, I have 4 wrasses and have no peppermints alive to my knowledge...wish I did so they would eat apstasia :/
  12. JayR is coming to look at them tonight when getting some corals. If not sold they're yours.
  13. Copied from RO on neck cleaners: motorized (ANC) Automated Neck Cleaner helps keeps your octopus protein skimmer running at peak performance by periodically wiping the inside of the neck where all the bio-organics usually would accumulate. This great skimmer accessory not only keeps you skimmer running at peak efficiency but save the timely chore of keeping your skimmers neck clean. As you know, build up in the neck causes foam to stick to the sides and restricting the collection of skimmate within the skimmers cup. Keeping the neck wall clean results in consistent skimmer performance and little to no down time. This device uses twin squeegees to automatically remove the buildup from a skimmer neck. The (ANC) Lid consists of a high torque low RPM motor, wiper mount, lid with mounting clamps and the squeegees. To operate this easy to you device, you simply plug the unit into a timer (not included) or aquarium controller and set it to run for a few minutes 4 to 6 times per day. By running it this way you will never experience crud build up along the walls of you skimmers neck. This will eliminate the daily chore of cleaning for two or more weeks while maintaining the level of skimmate production that you would normally get with only a freshly-washed collection cup.
  14. Nice cover! You have your garage door insulated? Your plan sounds feasible with all the submerged pumps.
  15. I ran them just an hour or two on each end of my light cycle. They are non dimmable so pretty bright, which is why I never ran them all night. Plus IIRC the UV was around 400nm, so nothing got pissed. You are correct, I just swapped one of the Blues for a UV to calm them down a bit lol
  16. Hey all, Have 3 of the reefstar 3w led fixtures. They have all had the layout modified with more colors and UV/blues for color balance. These have 2 dimmable channels and 1 non dimmable moonlight channel. 1 is missing standard hanging hardware but has chain instead. All 3 were used for a little over a year. Only defects are some rust in a few minor spots (very minor). SOLD THANKS JAYR! Moonlight (2x RB and 1 UV)
  17. If you want to trek up here I have some old 14k 175w bulbs. Will trade for a frag of anything lol
  18. Jumping is the only way I've ever lost a clown. Had 2 carpet surf. With your rimless tank, you should look into a clear mesh top like BRS sells.
  19. The rims are pretty easy to remove with just some razor blades and some time. Looks really nice, how was the glass edge under the rim? I've heard horror stories of them being pretty rough since they plan on covering them anyway. You making a skin for the stand? Good job being a baller on a budget (clap)
  20. (scary) Nice pack! Sometime I gotta get some cherry charms from Ya.
  21. I've got some teal candy canes, tiny green rics, misc zoas, and some shrooms I can grab. Bring $10 and you'll leave with some corals
  22. Hey guys, have an extra pinwheel and intake printed. This is the beast that makes 85 SCFH. You will need to add barb after installing intake. Pricing is: Members: $40 Non members: $50 If you want it shipped, it's the non member price. If you bring your DC12 over to pickup I will install it for free (just need ring remover if you don't have already to install). Not mass producing these, this is an extra I had made. PM me with any questions.
  23. Woah that's moving fast! Didn't the gearbox reduce it? I think the one I got is only like 5 or 10 rpm. The Swabbie is super slow. Not saying it won't still work, just slower.
