  1. While researching videos on youtube, pretty much everyone says/uses this method as well.
  2. I was a bit paranoid about my tank in my new house. I bought two jack stands, pushed the floor up a bit, slapped some 4x4s in a "n" shape under and perpandicular to the joists and then took the jack stands out. Worked like a dream and now I sleep at night without worrying my tank will fall through my living room floor. This is in my basement and doesn't get weather and is standing on the slab of my foundation.
  3. Great game cowboys! 5 in a row!! Without the blocked punt, muffed punt, and bad snap, this game would have been a blowout! The Hawks get a lot of calls and no calls. I saw at least two hits on Romo that were late and would have been called on another QB. But you won despite the homefield refs in one of the hardest stadiums to win in. Nice job. Dear niners, Broncos bout to hand you a whoopin!!
  4. [language filter]. Was in Denver for the Broncos game. Catch ya next time around.
  5. Never said I hate the cowboys, just a team that makes it very easy to pick on. Then there's the whole Texas thing, but I won't go into that. My best friend is a cowboys fan so I've paid a lot more attention to them of late. Played Williams for the first time last week as most others were on bye and boy did that pay off! Still waiting for Witten to get going though... Killin me!
  6. Sweet, I will check that out next time I'm in the area. One of my favorite shops is called "Its a burl" just into Oregon on the 199. Lots of cool stuff to check out. Sadly, some firends just stopped by and told me the owner had passed but his son was keeping it going. Cool two-three story tree houses you can climb in. Think some movies have shot some scenes there as well. Totally not touristy and recieved one of the best responses ever when I asked to climb the tree house: "At your own risk". Not enough of that in America anymore.
  7. I've purchased Manzanita burls and pieces in S.OR/N.Cali recently. Pretty sure they grow in that area.
  8. Nice win last night! Dominated the first half, second half got a bit nerve racking but they held them off and the D came through big time.
  9. Yup, toothpick rubberbanded to the syphon is the best way I've found to deal with bubble algae. I've had the best luck with smaller emeralds. they tend to keep new stuff from growing but might not touch existing bubbles big enough for you to see.
  10. I have $500 efflo, $20. I could maybe do a $20 red planet as well. Have some other frags all healed up as well if you are interested in anything else. Usually do a pay $50 and get $70 worth kinda thing. LMK
  11. Also, I would always hang them from the rim with the little hanging kit but still use the suction cups as a vibration damperer. The cups never hold the pump up on their own, but work great as a muffler.
  12. Check to make sure there is no air in the pump. IE. when its underwater, turn it all sorts of directions to get any air out of any sections. Also make sure the housings are attached correctly and the prop pin is in the guides. I had 4 maxi jets on a wave maker for a couple years and they would "click" on on and off really loudly, but once running they should be relatively quiet.
  13. I bought one from CnC about 6 months ago and I have a mixed reef including clams and he has been a stellar addition to the community. He does chomp at the shells of the clams, but they almost seem to know he's cleaning them and they barely flinch anymore. I'd buy one again with no concerns.
  14. Yikes!! Thats serious. Glad it wasn't worse. Looks pretty much head on.
  15. Welcome back, I look forward to meeting you.
  16. Nice score! I've always wanted an another big toe.
  17. How do you feel about about a blue or black backing for the tank? I find they "frame" the tank nicely and hide a bunch of the wires and hang on back stuff. Might consider it, I used cheap science fair posterboard for a while before buying the Vinvyl.
  18. Hard to see the whole picture and anlges, but you may be able to tilt that whole rock colum a little bit better and get some more light on those ledges in the front and less on the back where you don't see it. That would open up your options a bit more.
  19. I have a 72 and I picked up a tiny (silver dollar) size hippo tang from Cuttlefish about a month and half ago. Didn't quarantine it and its doing great. Really happy with that splash of blue in the tank.
  20. Looking good! Glad to hear you came through the algae bloom okay.
  21. Gorgeous! I have the same tank and always wondered what it would look like if I did it proper... This is bet inspiring. Beautiful hood and it have serious sump envy. Great idea to take the center brace out and replace it with a removable one. Odd shape and space to work with.
