  1. just got him yesterday. He's in an old biocube for quarantine. So far he's eating and active. He slept buried in his sand bowl last night. Any wrasse safe med suggestions in case I notice a change in his marks? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. learned my lesson with the necessity of a QT, and noticed these white markings on a new corris wrasse. is this an injury that's healing? illness? brought him home last night, and he's active and eating pellets today. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. from what I've found, I need furan 2, which contains nitrofurazone, but I really appreciate the offer. I should be able to grab it at a LFS in the morning. QT is up and heating, if they make it til morning they're moving in for a few week stay. Both are still acting completely normal, so here's hoping we noticed early enough to make a difference. My attack plan is a fw dip, then into the medicated QT. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. boo! it really does look like uronema when comparing to photos. And it's in my display reef. The 2 new chromis both have lesions, but the one I've had for 2 yrs seems healthy still. Both fish with lesions are still very active, eating, and not gasping. Hopefully this sticks to just the chromis (no clowns), and my other livestock makes it thru. I've got a 12g biocube I can set up for a hospital tank, but I'm concerned it's too small for these chromis. Should I try to treat them? Take them back to the store? 5. noticed this on chromis a few minutes ago, looked completely healthy last night. Been in the tank for 5 days. Damage onboth sides of fish, more damaged side in photo Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the good advice! dramatically less cloudy today Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks for the input! Skimmer is dialed down and no longer over flowing, thou it's skimming wet at this point. Phosphates tested at 0.08 with a red sea kit, nitrates tested 10ppm with a saliferr. Added purigen to a clean filter sock, hopefully with the new skimmer finally broken in, it's going to reduce nutrients in the water collum. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. Can do! Any way to tell for sure it's bacteria? Will another big water change help or make it worse? My skimmer is running crazy currently. Should I try to raise it, or turn it off for now?
  9. My po4 has been climbing in my newly cycled nano, so I soaked and rinsed phosgard. This was on wed last week. Tank super cloudy Thursday morning. Immediately removed phosgard and added filter floss to a fresh 100 micron felt sock. Water was still super cloudy Thursday, so I did a 13g wc (about 50%), and kept changing out sock with floss. The level of cloudiness reduced, you could see all the rockwork again. Skimmer settled down so I could turn it back on. Last night I changed out the filter sock again, and I noticed the skimmer going crazy afterwards. This morning I'm back to super cloudy, as bad as the first morning with the phosgard. How can I get this horrid dust out of my system!? Is It still the phosgard? Did a few tests yesterday, kh 10.4 mg 1600 ca 450 no3 8
  10. looking for suggestions for skimmer for red sea reefer nano. The BM curve 5 might be an option. I've also looked at tunze, but I'm not sure which model would fit best. What's everyone else running for this size tank? sump space 9.4"×8.3" Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. has any one else gotten false positive nitrate results from a red sea kit? I just got one a few weeks ago, an it's been giving me some weird high readings. Some where between 16 and 32 ppm nitrate. The solution is reacting a purple color, not the pink tones of the color wheel, so it's harder to compare. Same results with this kit over the last 2 weeks with 3 wc (2 15g and 1 25g). ive also been testing with a non expired api kit I keep for my fw tank. The api read 20ppm nitrate 2 weeks ago and 5 ish today. The 20ppm reading makes sense. Ive been having issues with my skimmer for months now (but hopefully I finally fixed it. Found filter fuzz from the filter sock in the impeller, and removed it. real bubbles again!!) But trusting the api kit for my reef feels odd. Any ideas? Suggestions on a better test kit option? 12. any suggestions for a good ato? it's for my 72g bowfront. Anyone using the innovative marine ato with sensors for salinity vs the dual float switch options? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. I'm setting my little bio cube back up (I think it's a 10), and I've noticed a giant head ache. this tank got a diy led installed in it maybe 6 years ago, and it's controller has corroded in storage. I don't remember the company I got the light from, any one have a new controller suggestion? what would you suggest for a replacement light if a new controller doesn't work out? thanks for the help! 14. did a wc and a redose yesterday. I'm pretty sure using my skimmer week 2 is what slowed my results. today I can see a whole new round of white and dying gross algae. I'm leaving the skimmer off til all the byropsis is dead. shouldn't be long now! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. I'm at 16 days and everything is slowly dying off. I do need to do a wc, the cyano is feasting on all the excess nutrients from the dead byropsis. I'm think about doing one tomw, but adding fluconazole to the new water to continue the treatment for another week. should I dose the wc at the same rate as the tank (15g wc in 75g system, so I'd an additional 300mg), or should I do my wc and dose the full tank with another total dose (70g at 20mg/g, so 1400mg to the system). haven't been finding much info on how fluconazole breaks down.
