  1. As many of you know, my tank has suffered a lot of coral loss over the past few months. But today I noticed the first new growth in a very long time! My hammer has several tiny new heads appearing on the sides of the skeleton. It's not much, but any sign of growth is welcome. There's also a crazy amount of what I believe are tiny chaetopterid worms:
  2. I have a Phillips HUE light strip behind my tank that accents the wall. I really like the contrast of red/orange light against the blue LEDs.
  3. See this for tips on how to measure it: https://www.digikey.com/en/blog/barrel-connector-measurement-tricks
  4. It's called a barrel connector, but you need to know the specific outer and inner diameter. Do you have a caliper to measure it? See this for an example: https://www.amazon.com/5-5mm-Extension-Female-Barrel-Connector/dp/B01LCY9G66
  5. All the utility lines in my neighborhood are underground, too. Yet in the 10 years I've lived here there has still been at least one power outage per year, with the longest being about 8 hours a few years ago before I got into reefing. Stupid things: a squirrel fried at a power substation, a car crash into a major power pole, a construction backhoe digging in the wrong place, a planned utility pole replacement project leading to my neighborhood, and of course wind/ice storms.
  6. I have a weather station on my roof. Take a look at the temperature, wind, rain, and pressure all change rapidly as the cold front came through around midnight last night: Here's the link to my live weather data on Cooper Mountain in Beaverton: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KORBEAVE67
  7. Looking great as always! I hope I can get my tank back to good health soon. Just curious...how often do you clean/vacuum your sandbed?
  8. My generator kicked on just after midnight as the cold front swept through and caused a blackout lasting about 30 minutes. I didn’t have quite the sweet deal as you, but I agree, it’s priceless! I slept like a baby with that hum of the generator in the background.
  9. Just curious...What are your water parameters? I've struggled with PO4 and NO3 and lost a lot of corals recently.
  10. There's a TV? I didn't even notice any TV! 🤣
  11. Wow, this turned out amazingly well! Excellent work.
  12. I’ve been slowly dosing Brightwell Phosphat-E for the past couple months, and once the levels got low enough I stopped dosing and resumed using my GFO reactor.
  13. Sort of. I’ve slowly brought PO4 down to 0.02 ppm but NO3 is still higher than I want at 16 ppm. The remaining SPS corals have slowed the pace of decline, but they’re still losing tissue and I’ve lost a few more colonies over the past few weeks. I’m working on a plan to completely rebuild my sump to include a roller mat for better filtration, and a careful inspection of every component for any rust or damage. I also need to test for stray voltage to see if that could be a cause. But I still don’t know for sure what the root cause could be.
  14. Way to sell it! Now that's some marketing right there...🤣
  15. Neptune had wide-spread Fusion outages on Thursday and Friday. Mine never had an issue, but it's possible the connection problems were dependent on your Internet provider, and it's possible the outages started on Wednesday when @Reefsakes was having the initial problem. Neptune has not yet posted any official explanation for the outages.
  16. I was really tempted to clean my mixing tank this week, but was too lazy and busy with last minute Xmas stuff. But the next nice day I'll tackle it.
  17. Not just Apple...Do you have a Windows PC or laptop? Just anything other than an Android?
  18. Also, do you have any other device besides an Android to use for the setup? I have helped many people with Apex setup, and those with Androids have always had issues. It works much easier on an iPhone/iPad, PC, or Mac.
  19. Which model of Apex do you have? Apex (2016), Apex-EL, Apex Classic, Apex Jr.
  20. No, it shouldn't take that long. Try this: Open a web browser and navigate to https://apexfusion.com and log in with your Fusion account. See if it lists your Apex and if so, click it to go to the dashboard. If it shows up properly, then that means the Apex setup is complete and the app on your phone is just hung up. If that's the case, kill the app on your phone and re-launch it, which should take you to the Apex dashboard.
  21. You should probably change the profile name: If Output FORCE-LED-ON = ON Then LED-Algae-Grow 🤣
