  1. 2 have similar to 1 and morphing on 2 is interesting
  2. I need to measure, but it is very slow. Faster than a calcium reactor though? I am guessing < 50 GPH. The article Reefnjunkie linked gives some good rules on gph / watt.
  3. On an unrelated search, ran across a cool tool for reefing that doesn't break the bank: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JSJH4M6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Basically it's just a magnifying glass with a light built in. Very, very handy for inspecting frags. What is your favorite reef tool?
  4. I have been happy with it. You can put a gate valve in front of it to control the rate of reduce flow from the manifold. That helps so you can be sure it is cooking the tar out of everything that comes through it. It is not a high end one by any means, but with a gate valve to control flow and big 55 watt uv bulb, I feel it is probably quite effective.
  5. Great, great doser. I do love it. It is nutty to see they are down to 25 dollar per head, unreal compared to what dosers cost just a year ago.
  6. While not typical, I am running a pond one, 55 watts, this one. http://www.amazon.com/Jebao-55-watt-Clarifier-Sterilizer-Aquarium/dp/B00K1HHG9U It is a pretty good deal. Seals are weak, so teflon it and mount over your sump. Worth a shot if you are looking for high watts for low $$
  7. I have a few things down there, just thinking I should check as Rudy may be getting tired of holding them for me! If so, I would love transport to Vancouver or anywhere North, would save a bit of time on a busy Saturday. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. probably given how healthy they are!
  9. What do you like feeding them? I have used flakes, soaking pellets in tank water, some of the coral foods etc. I think 0.5mm pellets are the easiest.

    Scared last night

peroxide dip is definitely the way to go. Not uncommon on zoa frags to see some GHA, you did the right thing and your turbo saved you the waiting game of watching it turn grey and disintegrate. Shouldn't be a problem, good luck!
  11. Ahh, a fellow reloader, cool. My dad taught me all about it, we used to do that together. GLWS!
  12. Nice, thanks for the update. I am always interested in LED offerings, it is nice to see the pics.
  13. Ah, I see back further in the thread, Sasquatch;s picture and running blues 45%, whites 5%. A few months ago he sent me a picture with a green ring so thick they looked like adonnis palys, super nice!
  14. And just a copy / paste from the original thread if it can help answer the question
  15. Under the particular lights I was using, it seems that under direct light that the brilliant orange increases and does shadow the green. If I found a 'medium light' location, the green is more dominant. Sasquatch had the fullest green skirt I have ever seen. Sasquatch, can you tell us more about your lighting and the thick green ring you obtained?
  16. Good information. The thought of losing a tank is not a good one. Getting reimbursed, well good job that seemed impossible. Had the 29 gallon QT spring a leak two days ago. Best tank that could have leaked, drained it out the window with an MJ before enough leaked to cause too much damage. Have fun on the rebuild!
  17. a beast! What kind of pump is that in the picture?
  18. I had one nice and bright like that, but it only lasted a few days. Shipping stress I presume... Mine was from another vendor. Super pleasant color, really amazing. Not brown at all, but truly golden.
  19. me personally I just use a generic one for my apex and router, don't use one on anything else. Whatever was the cheapest at target most likely.
  20. Reefkeepers know... You can fix about anything with cyanoacrylate

  21. GFCI in wall, surge suppressor plugged into GFCI if you need it, then DJ powerstrip plugged into surge suppressor. Hope that helps
