  1. Nice! Those are legit, congrats!
  2. Sweet, who did you get it from?
  3. Nothing wrong with waiting at all. They are nice, but by no means required! But definitely keep it on your radar for the future.
  4. Base price 500 Sell one eb8 - 80 dollars Sell one lab grade ph probe - 30-40 dollars New price 380-390 for a full apex after selling off extras. Make him an offer, might save another 20-30 dollars. Buy the PM1 and conductivity down the road, this is a great start! The apex will grow as your system grows. I had to buy in pieces, it is too big of a pill to swallow at once

Phone pic or not, there is allot of super colonies of nice healthy coral, really looks great thanks for sharing. So what is the secret to trumpets/candy canes? You obviously have that down those are nice colonies!
  7. Thanks for heads up! Take two down, pass em around 97 bottles of Bayer on the wall

I picked up a really nice elegance from golden basket, the baby one to the right that is bright green. Had it since 2/28 looks like it is a good hearty one I see the tamarin wrasse is blocking it a little but you get the idea. Rudy's elegance, super good experience, hardy coral.

Gotta love those encrusting corals, congrats!
  10. Great thread, pics and info. Love those crabs so cool!
  11. This apex might be a good deal, the display is overrated... It will take you from 0-60 pretty fast in the controller world http://www.pnwmas.org/topic/33715-high-quality-equipment-fs-from-tank-tear-down/
  12. The apex is pretty darn flexible. Reefkeeper is making ground with their new product, archon. It shows allot of promise, BlueZReef has one. If you are looking for a safe investment in a crazy flexible, well established, good resale controller, then you cannot go wrong with apex. Start with a jr and add on over time, not a bad way to go. You will love it. I have allot more peace when away from the tank due to it. APEX saved me a few times already from things I may not have noticed without it.
  13. I wouldn't risk shrimp, he gets pretty hungry. Snails seem ok, but hard to count. There is a sea hare alive and kicking that I see most evenings.
  14. Gee, I guess this thread is going to get upstaged a bit by the exiting LED thread
  15. Ah, thanks for the opportunity to clarify. I mentioned iodide because it is considered by some to be helpful for shrimp molting. Rather than hurting the shrimp with copper, this actually can help if you are deficient in iodine. it sure is nice that the ingredients are listed. So many things available for the tank keep the recipe proprietary.
  16. I try to keep up on LED technology, but always learn stuff from bombertech. Thanks Matt!
  17. Calcium Reactors

  18. Cool! I like him, but he does assert himself in the tank. Adding new fish between him and the yellow tang has proved difficult.
  19. Yes, I can see the first time you click view new content it uses this url: http://www.pnwmas.org/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=ccs The second time, this url: http://www.pnwmas.org/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums Too bad it cannot use the second url, first! The only difference is the search_app argument...
  20. I use reef plus (reef trace + aminos) and have a couple of fire shrimp. No issues. In fact, with the added iodide it is good for them. Of course follow the directions and don't overdose. You may get the age old advice 'if you cannot test, do not dose' advice for sure, but from my experience it is absolutely safe.
