Hey Scott - Chewie or dsoz can probably give you good advice on moving the splits but for what it's worth, I extracted mine just a day or so afterward and it is doing great in it's new home.

Thanks for the pics... hope to see more when you get a chance (clap) BTW - as to the question about adding fish with the purple tang, not sure if you were thinking of, or wanting other tangs but I have had pretty good luck with multiple tangs as long as they are different body types. You wouldn't want to risk another zebra (although others have done this successfully) but you could add something like a lineatus or a naso or one of the bristle tooth tangs. I always enjoy the varied tangs and they have slightly varied dietary preferences so the mix helps to keep the algae down... not that it looks like you have any problem with that! Thanks for sharing!

Interesting question... is any trigger "reef safe" and what, exactly does that mean? I have heard Blue Jaws, Sargosa (red tail), crosshatch and potentially nigers mentioned in this context but would be curious as to what that entails. Perhaps none of these have a propensity for going after coral but that may not extend to inverts and small fish! Obviously, every fish is different so there are no guarantees but it would be cool to be able to keep one in a diversely stocked tank... if I ever had one big enough!

Wow... what's up with those pics??? You could really use a camera upgrade so you can start doing some justice to those beautiful corals!!! (maybe that will help with the spouse as you can now tell her you are getting harassed on the board for your "poor" photo quality - good luck!) Actually, it looks like you are collecting some really nice specimens... keep the pics coming!

Tank is really coming along nicely - I actually like the look of that fixture on there... very clean! It looks like the tank will be viewable from both sides (which is very cool), have you thought about using some of that dark window film on the overflows? It is basically electrostatic so you could peel it off if need be to check the overflows (for wayward fish for instance... don't ask ) then just wet the surface and put it back when you are done. You probably already have this covered but just a thought.. Keep up the pics! I love how this tank is coming together.

Hmm... sounds like all three of you may not yet have your accounts configured as paid members. Same thing happened to me. I would recommend shooting Brandy (the treasurer, secretary) a PM to let her know you paid but your status doesn't seem to have been updated. She might need your real names to cross-check to. I think Rob Allend does the actually account configuration once Brandy verifies the payment and links it to the username. Anyway... that is my best guess. Hopefully Brandy will clarify. Nice design... that looks like a great idea! I like how much space it gives you with the option of shading for some of the lower racks. Very sharp!

Maybe I can get my act together for next year... I would have to at least wash it though (laugh) Dean at Futrell has been very good to me actually even though mine is only a stage 1 mod. As far as I can tell, there were only 1300 S4 Avants imported and those are mostly the autosticks... I am guessing about 350 or so of the six speeds. Last time I looked on Autotrader, there were only 2 in the US for sale! Guess I should take better care of it DOH!

Not a bad idea but, unfortunately, sounds like it's too late now. If you aren't noticeably low on pressure (can't run the sink when the toilet is flushing etc.) I bet you will be fine. I have an old house (1909) with what could be the original feed line and it still shows 60-70 when nothing else is drawing. I will keep my fingers crossed for you but bet you will be fine. Sean

Hijack Alert (naughty) Hey Zoolander - thanks for the link. That looks pretty cool. I drive a 2001 S4 Avant 6M but it's pretty near stock... rare car though from what I can tell. I may have to try and make it down there at some point. I wonder if Futrell Autowerks (local APR tuner) is going to be there? Hijack Alert over Good luck with the hair algae, seem like a never ending fight. I have had good luck with my tangs but it usually requires an assortment to clear everything out. At one point, I had a scopas, sohal and kole - everybody eat different algae but it sure kept the tank clean. Seems like you have been getting lots of good advice already but I would definitely take the issue of natural sunlight to heart as that seems to be a major contributor to many algae outbreaks due to the more favorable spectrum of the light (well, favorable to algae anyway). That and take Curtis up on his offer of RO/DI - that is a huge help. Keep up the good fight!

I am a little worried with Dr. Phil staying back in LA and Kobe starting to gear up for the playoffs but, really, it's all about the Blazers and how they approach the game.
