  1. Ha - that figures... I was just down there for vacation the week before last. If I would have seen your thread with all the nice specimens you picked up there earlier I definitely would have made plans to stop by!
  2. Where did you pick that one up? I tried one once but it had a fresh break on it (didn't notice originally) and ended up getting infected (my bad). I love the look of those and wouldn't mind trying again at some point - especially the ones with the bright blue tips!
  3. Interesting... that site is still up BTW - looks like you can pick up a Clarion Angel for $2,000 if you are willing to take a chance! The last "news" item was posted about a year ago though. Unfortunate that it seems to have played out this way.
  4. Thanks for the pics Miles... looks like it was a lot of fun. Should be a really interesting year with the staffing changes and turnover at some key positions. Looks like plenty of potential talent though... BTW - was that your ride in the pictures? A little much don't you think
  5. Yeah... I wish I could get such crummy pics I also like the purple cap and blue sponge- you have some really nice pieces in there Daniel!
  6. Wow... nice light fixture. If you follow those links, the pricing is over 700 pounds sterling I believe... which is over a grand US so smoking deal. Sorry I can't use one Garrett or I would be all over it!
  7. Hey... I'm in there if anyone is in the mood.
  8. Wow... beautiful tanks everyone! Steelhead, are those shots 4 months old or was the tank only setup for 4 months? Hard to believe the latter but a gorgeous tank anyway you look at it (rock2). Yeah, Steve's tank has some beutiful aquascaping and some truly amazing coral colonies in it. I would have guessed that was only about 1/3 of the tank as well. Thanks for sharing all
  9. Yeesh! Thanks man, now I won't be able to sleep tonight
  10. Very cool Andy... I love the look of those guys. I bet he mows through the asterinas pretty quick - on to chocolate chips! Hopefully he doesn't acquire a taste for those lovely pink zoas he is eyeing (scary)
  11. Glad to hear you are getting your tank back Mark! Sounds like you are off to a good start with the rock. Let's see... I guess I should swing by Waves tomorrow and pick up a nice piece with a zip tie on it (naughty)
  12. Well.... a good season comes to a rather painful conclusion. Nice effort by the team this year. I am looking forward to seeing Oden after a summer of conditioning and skills work on two good knees as well as a more seasoned Batum. Lots of things to look forward to next year! But.... is there really any doubt anymore that we need a starting point guard? Also, Travis showed me absolutly nothing in this series. When his shot isn't falling he is bringing nothing to the table. Some decisions to be made this off season - let the speculation begin!
  13. Congrats! Now you can buy me a pint That brain coral was a great deal for someone...
  14. Ah... they do look similar to the "Blue Magicians" ID'd in Roy's top down tank shots now that I go back and look. Thanks Miles!
  15. Dennis - I think these are a couple of interesting and in some ways interrelated points. I definitely think you might be on to something here in questioning the water source for the tropical reef tank for a few reasons including the issue of possible contaminants, salinity fluxuations (can't remember if you adjust this or not), "inappropriate flora/fauna die off, and general organics levels. Obviously it would be more work but using RO/DI with a consistent salt mix might be a better approach. In which case... I would definitely think about adding the refugium to help establish a population of more appropriate micro flora/fauna. That could be jump started with some donations for existing systems. In combination with the other suggestions re circulation, skimming etc., I think you would be in pretty good shape.
  16. Yeah... no kidding Jason. I can't believe all the really striking color morphs showing up in these threads lately. Makes me want to get another tank and start a collection... hey, wait a second (scratch)
  17. Very nice guys! Miles... what is the second one down in your last post? Those are crazy looking...
  18. Wow! Very nice... there are some many really beautiful pieces in there I wouldn't know where to start. Great tank (clap)
  19. Hey Prada... I know this is off topic but did want to mention how nice your tank is looking! Very sharp! Good luck finding a new home for your cranky tang
  20. Those are some sweet zoos Andy. I love the unusual color morphs. Kinda helps make up for all those arctic SPS colonies! Sorry... shouldn't have gone there (nono)
  21. Ah... that explains it - I was wondering how I missed the skimmer! Thanks for sharing the pics!
  22. Very cool... nice work Trever. Now, if I just had an iPhone and an RKE. Maybe you could work on one for the Aquatronica next!
  23. I appreciate the vote of support Isaac! BTW - that purple rim monti cap you saved for me is coloring up nicely... I will have to post a pic of that some time. Sorry... off topic again DOH!
