  1. Sweet! I will be there! Not cooking mind you, just eating (drooler)... Just to clarify, the no cooking part is for the protection of all!
  2. I heard it had a bit of a "shady" past as a biker bar kinda place (no insult intended!) but I started going there in the mid '90s - they have had the same managers and lead chef ever since! Some of the mexican "staples" are hit or miss but the more unusual items (yucatan steak salad), the chili verde and chili colorado (almost a mole) and specials can be quite good. I lived down the street in Garthwick for a few years as well...
  3. Congrats on scoring those from Bob last week. I was hoping to get a glimpse of them at the store on Saturday but figured I would be out of luck! Can you post some pics if/when you get a chance? Thanks!
  4. Glad you were able to figure it out and get it corrected... too bad about the livestock though. I hope some of it comes back around for you. Good luck!
  5. Ok... you are talking me into it! (drooler) But on topic (yeah, I know, a change of pace for me). Favorites include... Iron Horse (best chili verde I've had in PDX, good specials) Clay's BBQ (good ribs and catfish) Tuk Tuk Thai (have never had a bad dish) Mash Tun Brew Pub (good burgers with Oregon Country Beef reasonably priced) Concorida Ale House (diverse menu with good sandwiches and fish and chips) All these are NE PDX except for Iron Horse (Sellwood) and Clays (Division) I'm sure their are more but I am making myself too hungry!!!
  6. What time Brandy? I will be there! Oh wait, it's Corvallis... never mind.
  7. I would second all of Dennis' comments about the RBTA. I have had one now for over 2 years and it has been in the same spot most all of that time. It did move several times before settling in though so if you are going to get one, add it early and let it settle before adding many other corals. Mine is easily 12-14 inches across during the day when the lights are on so it does consume a lot of real estate! That being said, there is nothing quite like the motion and color they provide. I also have clowns that host large hairy mushrooms so, as Dennis says, you don't need the anemone just because you enjoy clown hosting behavior. Good luck! Sean
  8. Sounds like good progress Garrett - can't wait to see the setup pics! Ahh yes, the advantage of having a garage... I doubt I could get away with a 100 gallon trough for a sump in our dinning room (enforcer)
  9. Congrats! It's always sweet when something in your tank reproduces... well, except aptasia that is I have a poor neglected FW tank with a collection of assorted tetra, barbs, and blue platys and every time I check it lately there is a new generation of Platys in there - I think we are at number 6 or 7 at this point. Even though these guys are supposed to be easy to rear as live bearers, I have never had a batch be so long lived and prolific. It's a whole different level with the cichlids though so definitely something to celebrate (clap)
  10. That is cool! I used to spend a few weeks each summer down there with neighbors when I was a kid - hence the cut up clamming hands! Don't know many people that actually grew up there though. Sad part is, I don't actually like clams - well, eating them anyway
  11. Beautiful tang... I have always wanted one of those. Where did you get him?
  12. Congratulations Eric! I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well (albeit tired). Hope you enjoy your time as a new parent - of kids instead of fish for a change! Welcome back... Sean
  13. I can't cook but I would be happy to taste test! BBQ, ohhh yahhh (rock2)
  14. Hey Eric - you're back! Hope everything is going well for you and the family. Apologies for the hijack... back to the zoas!
  15. Wow... crazy. Spawning would have been my guess as well but I don't really know anything about how pagoda's reproduce. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if it could be induced by a stress event of some sort. I hope someone on here knows about these guys.
  16. I would agree that NO is the most "beatable" at this point. Really hard to predict what the final rankings are going to be with everyone clustered together like this. Definitely makes for some exciting bb though (clap)
  17. Stop it you guys... all this food talk is killing me! If you want another Ethiopian option there is a pretty good place called Beta Lukas on 50th just south of Division. Several friends of mine who are big into Ethiopian swear by it and the owner is pretty cool. Besides, if you come by for dinner on the second Sunday of the month you can catch us playing some eclectic world/jazz/blues/etc. music! Not sure if you would consider that a bonus or not though
  18. Normally I would agree with you, but I'm just not sensing the same mojo from these guys this year. Of course, there is a reason I don't bet on sports (nutty)
  19. (laugh)(laugh)(laugh) Excellent synopsis Michael!
  20. Hope they all pull through for you Miles. It's good to have some first hand feedback on how these various products work although I don't envy you being the one who has to test them! I'm still wondering where the 25 SPS would even fit in the tank
  21. Wow! That is impressive Miles. Have you ever counted up how many different corals you are keeping in there? It must be quite the task to keep them all happy - and they do look happy! I notice you have quite the acan collection going now as well. Congrats on an an amazing collection!
  22. Yeah - it's nice to be back in the playoffs! Longest streak without a playoff appearance since the first years of the franchise... seems like forever. 4th would be nice as home court seems to be a must for this team right now. I don't know what it is about Houston though, they certainly don't scare me on paper but seem to be a major matchup problem for us right now. I am glad to see Aaron Brooks get a chance to play but seriously, how does a team with a second year point not named Paul or Williams beat us consistently? Yao seems to give our bigs problems as well and, of course, Artest is Artest... I'm starting to think San Antonio may be a better matchup for us right now and, at the rate they are falling, it might come to that!
