  1. I finally made it to Ocean in a Box yesterday and just gotta say WOW! If you are at all into scollys, acans, favia, lobos, hammers, torches, elegance, etc., etc. you have to go check out Perry's shop! The shop itself is really nicely set up with huge holding tanks with large viewing boxes so you can get a great, up-close look at everything. There are colors of things in there I have never seen before in a shop so, by all means, check this place out if you haven't already. Perry was also very helpful and was more than generous with the Japanese deep water zoa pack from the raffle. Thank you Perry - I can't wait to stop back in! Sean
  2. Looks great Jase! that is coming together really nicely! I knew I should have picked up that tank when I had the chance DOH! Glad it went to a good home though! BTW - agreed on the wrasse. Cool looking little guys.
  3. Beautiful tank Ryan! That is looking awesome (clap) Too bad you won't be able to keep it intact when you finish your new one... shame to break it down when it is going so well. On the other hand, the tank you have planned looks like it will be really sweet as well and I am sure you will have it looking even more impressive in no time! Well... maybe a little time
  4. Yeah Mark! You got it up and running! That is definitely a sweet looking setup... and a really nice piece of rock to boot. Hope it's going well. Can't wait to see the rest of the pics (drooler)
  5. That is correct... I have only had it for a couple of months though and it is the first controller I have owned, which makes it somewhat hard for me to compare. I did some research on it before getting it from Reefhut which is how I knew about the link with the chart and the pricing
  6. Hey Bob... is that a sinularis? Looks sharp!
  7. Yeah +1 on the Potters.... I miss mine (sad)
  8. Just wanted to give a shout out to Josh "gradth" for hooking me up with his clown tang. Really nice guy and very accomodating as well since I couldn't make it over to his place right away to pick it up. He also has some (other) beautiful fish (drooler) Thanks again Josh!
  9. Hey Blaine... I think you may have missed one or two! Great list. Yes indeed, Bonnie can put it out there with some feeling. I should have added one or two of her shows to the list!
  10. Hey Snowpunk... I would definitely be into a piece of that so keep me in mind if you have more (clap)
  11. Hey Troy... was that at the MC? I was probably at that show! Oops.. just dated myself again DOH!
  12. I was smart enough not to post dates so I didn't give myself away (clap) lol. Actually... I am just so old that I can't remember the dates!
  13. Congratulations on a great start Monty - looks like it should be a sweet setup! Seems like a reasonable choice re lighting and give you the option to keep some less demanding coral at the bottom of the tank. I am sure you will get some additional recommendations on skimmers and pumps and you might consider some additional circulation via powerheads if you are going to keep SPS. Sounds like you are taking it slow and planning so that is a great first step! Welcome
  14. (laugh)(laugh) Fun list! You know it's got to be good when you can't remember it! Let's see... 1. Blondie - Parrallel lines tour/KGON rising star concert at the Paramount during an ice storm... $5.00 to get it, 2/3 empty and they still kicked @$$! 2. Lone Justice in San Jaun Capistrano... oh my, can Marie MacKee hypnotize on stage. 3. Zap Mama at the Aladdin - funky and cool and my wife and I hooked up there
  15. Not cheap! I have seen the "starter systems" with the controler, power strip, pH interface & probe, temp probe, level sensor, and PC interface & software for $699 new online. The packages go up in price from there adding additional probes (2nd pH, redox, salinity), interfaces (SMS, ethernet) and/or power strips. I looked around a bit before buying mine from Reefhut... Sean
  16. (whistle) I'm still waiting Mark! You can snap some pics while the RO/DI is going can't ya? (laugh)
  17. (laugh)(laugh) That is just one reason why my 120 is acrylic!
  18. Looking good Shane! Glad to see it up and running for you - it all seems to have come together really nicely. Looks like you put some thought into the plumbing setup... I like the lines you added for the reactors, very clean. Congrats on getting this put together (rock2)

    Tube Anemone

Interesting how what appears to be a fairly well thought out article can be so far off base from people's experience with these critters. Glad I wasn't seduced - nor was Eric!!! Thanks all.
