  1. I'm breaking down my 110g display tank. Almost all of the livestock is gone - just a few corals and cleanup crew left. Prices have been reduced well below my previous offerings. Anyone interested in the whole setup (everything listed below), I'd take $700. Here are the individual parts for sale: Light - Aquamedic dual 250W DE (HQI) metal halide pendant setup with PC actinics, electronic ballasts - $200. Will throw in one brand new Phoneix 14k bulb. Needs new actinic bulbs. This is a very high quality light - was about $800 new. Complete tank and stand setup - $500. Includes sump, Iwaki return pump, live sand, and all plumbing. Tank is all glass (1/2" thick), 18" x 48" x 30", sump is also glass. Stand is furniture grade solid wood - stained dark reddish brown. Will also include the matching hood. T5 lighting - 2 x 39W retrofit kit from Sunlight Supply - $20. Includes waterproof end caps, clip-on reflectors, and Workhorse ballast. I have this over the sump for growing loads and loads of macroalgae. Live rock - $2.00 per pound, 10 pound minimum purchase (well over 100 lbs remaining with variety of larger and smaller pieces) DJ power strip (with individual switches for each plug) plus two timers for lighting - $15 Approximately 3.5-4 gallons magnesium chloride (purchased from Waves before they closed) - $30 PENDING Activated carbon and GFO from Bulk Reef Supply - $10 Cash or trades for brewing equipment (no reef related trades, sorry). Will consider discounts if buying multiple items. Everything is available for pickup at my place in Oregon City. Will generally be around and available all this weekend. PM me with questions. Thanks for looking, Bryan

  3. Good call, Dennis. Thanks for chiming in to point out the chemistry here.
  4. In the Portland area, I found Seahorse to have some of the best deals for CUC. Outside of Portland, Garrett (Premium Aquarium) has great deals and a good variety.
  5. I have 250W HQI over a 30" tank and still have to find shady spots for a few chalices that are near the bottom. I have some montis and a birds nest growing nicely (and with great color) down near the sand bed at the moment. I think you would be fine on light with a 36" deep tank - the bigger challenge will be access. And you'll have to plan your flow well.
  6. Those levels are pretty similar to what I typically see from my Kent salt. I always test my freshly mixed saltwater, and have found the Kent to be remarkably consistent, even from bucket to bucket. I have not found that settling has been a noticeable problem. However, I do see how smaller particles would tend to settle to the bottom and larger ones work their way to the top over time with a substantial amount of vibration.
  7. Heh, I thought RC only stood for Reef Central. Sorry, another unhelpful post.
  8. Glad the lighting worked out well for you. This hobby is a lot more fun because of the people here who trade stories, offer advice, and share their experiences. Since I started my tank (wow, more than 3 years ago now), the two guys who got me into the hobby have broken down their tanks out of frustration because they didn't have a community helping them out. Or should I say, "feeding their addiction". I really appreciate this club and have gained much, much more than I have contributed by being here.
  9. My Iwaki is fairly quiet - much quieter than the PCX pump I replaced it with. I believe Blue Line is made by one of the former Iwaki engineers?
  10. I'd be in for some nudi's, too.
  11. I don't know the brand. I think the current box came from Walgreen's. I have heard of "nitrile" rubber, but not "nitrates" on gloves.
  12. If I'm going to be handling stonies, I try to use latex gloves. A box of them is cheap, and it seems to help both the corals and my hands.
  13. You might also post a WTB ad in the classified section. There are a number of members living in Oregon City who'd be happy to show off their tanks and probably make you a deal on some nice pieces. Kilmca (Calvin) always has lots of frags on hand, and dsoz (Dennis) is a fragging fiend! I have a few available, as well.
  14. Isaac opened The Coral Mafia in Sellwood...
