  1. I’ll play. The wifey says size doesn’t matter so here’s my 10 gal IM Nuvo AIO Ai Prime, Eheim return, filter sock, cheap-o Amazon Fuge light, 50w Eheim heater, Tunze nano ato, Koralia nano for flow, all sitting on a metal locker from IKEA. 20% water change every other Sunday I’ll be upgrading this set up to a Waterbox 60.2 soon and moving to more sps and lps that are all growing out in the frag tanks. Please forgive the pics...I’m not a photographer.
  2. There is a product by tropic Marin called “all for reef” that sounds like it would work for you. I am not sure about adding it to your ato but it might work. The concern is that your evaporation may vary, so you would have to adjust constantly. A simple single doser could work with kalk or all for reef, but you could also dose by hand for more accuracy vs the ato
  3. Again, thanks Manny. Hopefully put some breath back into the forums. I like having new things to read when I check in.
  4. That would be an abuse of power. Now we’re on to politics...? This is about to get good 😂😂😂
  5. I passed on it myself a few times but I couldn’t this time since the one I wanted and researched was $200 cheaper in person than online. Our lines are overhead and most of the area has been restored but we are in a weird area that doesn’t get attention right away. There’s an estimated 45 people on our lines and it becomes a lower priority than when there are entire blocks with multi-family dwellings. It makes sense, but it still sucks. plus, at this point with how much I have invested in my livestock, I almost couldn’t pass up a generator simply for the peace of mind. Keeping the family warm and the lights on is just a bonus 😂
  6. FYI...I don’t need any more coral for now, I just want to get the post count up for those who do. Manny has killer livestock. Do not miss out if you’re in the market for some awesome freebies!
  7. I picked up the Firman from Costco when it went on sale. I think it’s 7500 watts when running on gasoline. It’s a tri-fuel so it can run off gasoline, propane, or natural gas, but there is a performance drop from gas to propane and to natural gas. I have to top it off about every 8 hours at 6-7 gallons (tho it is an 8 gal capacity) I hooked it up to a 50 amp breaker in my panel so we can run all the lights we want, all the tanks and equipment, fridge, furnace (gas furnace, but still needs power for fans and controls) and some other minor stuff like TVs and chargers. Range is gas and water heater only runs when I shut power to fridge and furnace off for an hour in the morning. It’s no “whole house” generator but it works in a pinch and for under $800 it is well worth it. Going on day 2 with it on, and supposed to have power back tomorrow night.
  8. The anemone seems happy as well as the rest of the awesome stuff! I can’t thank you enough for the awesome corals (I can’t call them frags because they are all big!) The anemone is for my new build, so he/she is stuck in the nem box til that happens. Tank is on order (water box 60.2) as well as some other equipment. Rock is in a tub curing. I think it will go quickly when the tank arrives, but I will be taking as much time as I need to keep it all simple and stable. I like your concepts of minimalist builds, so that’s what I’ll be aiming for. The power is out in parts of Salem, including here, but I have a generator running to keep the house in order. Thankfully I picked it up just in time about a week ago! It does feel a bit strange relaxing at home watching movies and playing with the tanks while the neighborhood is blacked out, but they were all invited... rant over
  9. Manny, are you using the glue and sand method? How is that working and what sand did you use? I used a finer aragonite in mine and it seems to be pretty strong. I’m excited to watch this build progress.
  10. I like what you’re doing here. Props, Manny. I need to make some posts about my set up, reintroduction, etc but every time I sit down to start, I think of maintenance that needs to be done on the tanks...
  11. What else is in the tank? Anything else affected? My softies prefer higher nutrients so that may be something (zoas, mushrooms and toadstools). Toads do shed from what I’ve seen in my tanks but I haven’t had one shrink unless nitrates and phosphates are low or there was metal in the tank (found a rusty clamp before I switched them all to plastic).
  12. Got rid of a couple things. Still have the single hairy mushroom and zoa rocks.
  13. I thought that originally too, but I haven’t seen one grow like this, usually more “stick” like than flat. I guess since it’s a monti it will tend to do that. Makes sense. Thanks
  14. Got this piece with a used tank. It is pretty big...about 14-16"across. When I got it, it was mostly purple...similar to coralline color, with green edges and did not look well. Since I have gotten the system a bit more balanced, it is starting to turn more green. The polyps for sure are green and it seems new growth too. The body is just starting to shift and it is still under the same lights, but better flow (I think). First pic is blues, second with orange orphek lens. Thanks in advance, and sorry... I am not a photographer...
  15. Hey guys and gals. I have a couple things that I would like to clear out to make room for new... I am in Salem, but I usually head to Cuttlefish every other week, so meeting there is an option. First off, here's a pretty big rainbow bubble tip.. $50? Its about the size of a grapefruit or bigger when opened and really bright, and bubbles quite a bit. SOLD Also, I have a pair of Pajama Cardinals. They came with a set up I purchased and I am not a fan of them... they're too lazy for me. Pretty sure one is picking the other, because the fins on one are a bit damaged. Both are pretty sizable compared to what I see in stores. $15 ea or $25 for both? SOLD Next are some hairy mushrooms. One rock has 1 ($10, not pictured) and the other has 3 ($20) SOLD Last, for now, are some zoa rocks. Both are about the size of a softball and 1/2-3/4 covered. One is 'fire and ice" and the other is a mix of fire and ice and green bay packers, from what I can tell. FYI I am not positive on the ID, but that's what they look like to me. $50 each Thanks for looking!
  16. Is there any adjustment to the legs? Assuming they came with the fixture.. will you be reinstalling the orpheks if the repairs go as planned?
  17. I get mine at ace hardware. They usually seem to have the oddball fittings and such I can’t find other places. Between work and reefing I’m usually there twice a week. They know me and love that I always bring a challenge
  18. That’s cool. Smart move. I’ve been depending on the ink bird for a while and am just getting into the apex stuff. Not my strong suit... but hopefully it works out. Keep us updated on the build! I’m excited to see how this turns out
  19. This is an amazing build and I love the rock structure! May I ask why you have an ink bird AND and apex? Double protection...? Or triple..??
  20. Mmmm...I want candy... where we goin after this? Find your dog? pretty sure it was 09
  21. Picked up a pack from this guy and it was top notch! Thanks for the awesome pieces and the bonuses! Great guy to deal with here, y’all.
  22. Mine is a work van I had for a bit until my employee blew it up. Plus I thought it was funny because it looks like something that shouldn’t be allowed within 300 yards of a school.. we have a demented sense of humor.
  23. My wife is gonna be so pissed I’m cancelling date night... worth it.
